00:002019, which was the 20th year, I went to Batra top to pay tribute to him, along with the

00:12officers of 13th Jack, along with General Yoshi.

00:18And it was on 7th of July because we lost him on 7th of July, so we wanted to pay a

00:21tribute to Vikram and all the soldiers who lost their lives on that day.

00:25And incidentally, the mobile phones were working.

00:27And I gave a call to my mom and dad, that I am calling from Batra top, and they asked

00:32me how I was feeling.

00:33I said, I wish this call was given by Vikram 20 years back, rather than me giving you a call.

00:46My company's success story was Dil Mange More.

00:49The guys were so highly charged of that, they were wanting that some more bunkers should

00:53have been there and we would have got the more chaps.

00:58Dream of joining the forces was a knitted dream for both of us.

01:03There was a famous serial on those days, Paramveer Chakra.

01:06So the actual passion of joining the forces grew from there by listening to the brave

01:10stories of the 14 Paramveer Chakras who were awarded the highest honour post-independence.

01:17He was very patriotic at the core of his heart from the very beginning, from very childhood.

01:22He was the, in childhood, whatever is printed on the brain, and that becomes a part of the

01:27personality of the man in later years.

01:36We were very happy when he invited us on his passing out parade.

01:40Because I used to dream of taking commission during my young age.

01:44So I thought that my dream has come true.

01:48So Vikram was posted in Sopore, which is a suburb of district Baramulla.

01:53And Sopore, on those days, it used to be the hotbed of terrorism.

02:00Incidentally, Kargil happened, infiltration, you know, we got to know, the Indian army

02:04got to know that there is some infiltration by the Pakistani army.

02:07And they were directed to move to Kargil.

02:16He called me early in the morning.

02:18And I took the phone and he said, Daddy, I have captured.

02:23And then I was a little bit frightened.

02:26He explained that, Daddy, I have recaptured our peak, 5140.

02:32You know, that was the happiest moment of my life.

03:00He said, there is a sad news that you shot Captain Vikram.

03:06So I thought, he is not a guy who will go with one bullet.

03:09So my immediate question was, is he okay?

03:12Did anything happen to him?

03:14He said, we are sorry Vishal, he is no more.

03:21They say, time is a great healer.

03:24Let me tell you, nothing heals.

03:26It's only that you manage to live with the pain.

03:30Nothing heals, bro, I am very honest.

03:36I think I am blessed enough that I have a lovely Cosmics of Vikram 101.

03:40Somebody is a brigadier, somebody is a colonel.

03:42I always say, I see Vikram in all of you.

03:44I have no other choice.

03:46And that's the way I personally believe,

03:48life has been for me in the last 25 years.

03:54We remember him every time, we remember him.

03:57But we are very proud of him.

03:59He made our life worth.
