00:00Thank you Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, and still I rise, and still I rise an unbought, unbossed, unafraid, liberated Democrat.
00:14I rise as an unbought, liberated, unafraid Democrat, unbought by crypto cash, unbought by the millions of dollars that the
00:30crypto industry spends to elect people to Congress,
00:35so that they can have influence over legislation, unbossed by the cryptocrats, the people who are among the greediest when
00:47it comes to controlling money,
00:50who desire to not only avoid taxes but to evade taxes, unbossed, unbought, and unafraid,
01:02unafraid to speak truth to the powerful crypto industry, and unafraid to speak truth about the powerful crypto industry.
01:15You can speak truth to power by simply saying, power, there's a problem. Let's solve it.
01:20I speak truth about power because I say to power, there is a problem, and you are it.
01:27So today, as a censured, but not silenced,
01:44censured, but not silenced,
01:46member of Congress,
01:51who will today speak truth not only to power, but also speak truth about power.
01:57And as I do so, I will use my pointer as I customarily do.
02:03My cane, by the way, this cane is not to help me ambulate.
02:10I'm quite ambulatory.
02:12This cane is the rod and the staff that comforts me in the presence of my enemies
02:18when I don't have the protection that Congress is providing us,
02:23and I don't always have it.
02:25So today, as I speak truth, unbought, unbossed, unafraid,
02:31censured, but not silenced,
02:33I want to call several things to your attention on the topic of
02:37the dangers of unregulated cryptocurrency,
02:42the dangers associated with cryptocurrency when it's not properly regulated.
02:49let's start with the meme coins.
02:53The meme coins.
02:55If you own a meme coin,
02:58you own nothing.
03:00You have bought nothing.
03:02You have paid for nothing.
03:04And at some point,
03:06some of the owners of meme coins will get exactly what they paid for.
03:10Nothing.
03:11A meme coin is a fiction
03:16that requires the person who buys initially,
03:21or at some point,
03:23to hope that there's another person that will buy at a higher price,
03:28and that money between the price paid for
03:31and the price you can sell for the higher price becomes your profit.
03:35Well,
03:37in the parlance of those who do much of this at a street level,
03:43that's called the greater fool theory.
03:46Buying in and believing that there's a greater fool
03:49who will come along and cover your possible losses.
03:55If you own a meme coin,
03:58you own nothing.
04:01The president is one of the great purveyors of meme coins.
04:07The president has a coin,
04:12the dollar Trump coin,
04:14and this coin he can pump up
04:17and he can dump
04:19and leave those who are part of the higher price
04:23holding the bag.
04:25The president pumps and dumps.
04:28This is a scam.
04:31I'm speaking truth about power,
04:33not just to power.
04:35Yes, Mr. President, you have the problem.
04:38You have taken advantage of many people
04:41with your scam,
04:43wherein you can make comments
04:45and tell people to come down to Mar-a-Lago.
04:49Come on down
04:50and those who have the greatest investment,
04:53you will be allowed.
04:55Those who are buying in at a cheaper level won't be allowed.
04:59Therefore, people can go out and buy
05:01so that they can be among those who will come to Mar-a-Lago.
05:04And as a result,
05:06he pumps up the value of his meme coin,
05:09which is nothing.
05:12He pumps up the value of nothing
05:14and then at some point he can sell
05:17at this higher price
05:19and make an amount of money.
05:22This is really insider trading
05:27that is transparent.
05:29I don't think the president ought to be able to own meme coins.
05:33I don't think the cabinet should own meme coins.
05:37I don't think members of Congress should own meme coins.
05:40I think that members of Congress,
05:43the president and the cabinet,
05:45we have advantages that other people don't have.
05:48We talk to each other.
05:50The president can tell people when to buy
05:53and when to sell
05:53because he's going to pump and then dump
05:56or allow you to dump.
05:57I believe the law ought to regulate
06:01such that meme coins cannot be owned
06:04and sold by members of Congress
06:06and members of the cabinet
06:08and the president
06:10and possibly some others
06:12that I shall not name at this point.
06:15I believe that we have to properly regulate the meme coin.
06:21That's why the cryptocrats,
06:24that's why the cryptocrats
06:25want to get me out of Congress
06:28because they know I fight them.
06:30I stand in the way of what they attempt to do
06:32to people who are not knowledgeable
06:36about how this can be pumped and dumped
06:38and how people can be taken advantage of.
06:41I'm in the way.
06:43Yes, come and get me.
06:45I understand it.
06:45Come and get me
06:46because as long as I'm here,
06:48I'm going to stay in the way.
06:50Because I want to protect the American people
06:52from this kind of insider trading,
06:55this kind of selling of nothing
06:57and being taken advantage of
07:00by those who happen to buy nothing
07:02and assume that they can sell it for something.
07:05Yes, the meme coin is a problem.
07:08And those who sell it
07:10and create it
07:11are part of the problem
07:13when it's not properly regulated.
07:17I want to call to your attention
07:19the decentralization of cryptocurrency.
07:24The cryptocrats want to decentralize cryptocurrency
07:29so that they can have peer-to-peer transference of dollars,
07:33huge sums of dollars,
07:35untold amounts of dollars,
07:38peer-to-peer transfers.
07:39Why is this so important to them?
07:41Because if you can transfer peer-to-peer,
07:43you can engage in tax evasion
07:49more than tax avoidance.
07:50Tax avoidance is legal.
07:52Tax evasion is illegal.
07:55You can transfer huge sums of money
07:57from one person to another
08:00without some central entity
08:03that can be there
08:05to make sure that it's properly regulated.
08:08That's what the cryptocrats want.
08:12They want to be able to just transfer money.
08:15That way you can avoid taxes.
08:18But you can also do something else
08:20when you have this peer-to-peer transference.
08:23You can also transfer that money
08:25at a speed that is unbelievably fast.
08:30You can transfer it to a terrorist organization.
08:35It can be received by those who would do us harm,
08:38those who would disrupt our society,
08:41those who would disrupt the democracy that we cherish.
08:47Yes, the cryptocrats are in the business
08:50of buying and selling.
08:54And they're also in the business of contributing
08:57to those who would agree
09:00with what I am antithetical to
09:04because those who would agree
09:05what I'm antithetical to
09:07would allow them to have peer-to-peer transfers,
09:09would allow them to have meme coins
09:12that are meaningless.
09:14Nothing but a thought, a fiction.
09:18I'm speaking truth about power,
09:20not just to it.
09:23Yes, decentralization without regulation
09:25is a problem.
09:27And, of course, the cryptocrats,
09:31whether wittingly or unwittingly,
09:34are moving in the direction of
09:37creating something akin to
09:41the demise of the almighty dollar.
09:44The demise of the almighty dollar.
09:48Cryptocrats would, if they could,
09:51have cryptocurrency become the preeminent currency.
09:55There's a war for currency supremacy going on across the globe.
10:00The dollar is the supreme currency across the globe.
10:06It is the reserve currency of choice across the globe.
10:10The cryptocrats would have the cryptocurrency become the currency of choice.
10:16Use the cryptocurrency.
10:19Use it, and you don't have to have it go through some centralized location.
10:23Just transfer your money like you please.
10:26In fact, if they had their way, cryptocurrency would be tantamount to banks.
10:34They would have unregulated banks.
10:38And the sad thing about what I've just said is that the banks don't know who their friends are.
10:44They don't know who their friends are.
10:46They don't understand, it seems, that there are some of us who are fighting this.
10:52They don't seem to understand that.
10:56Well, I can tell you this.
10:58I'm going to protect the American banking system.
11:01Whether the banks will join in and help or not,
11:04I'm going to protect the American banking system because in so doing,
11:08I'm protecting the American dollar.
11:10In so doing, I'm helping to protect American democracy to a certain extent.
11:15Because if the banking system fails, people lose trust.
11:19They lose trust in the economy.
11:21That impacts the democracy in the sense of we've allowed people to be placed into office
11:28that would facilitate this decentralized transference of money.
11:33I am opposed to it.
11:35And I'm going to protect the banks in this country, a system that has functioned.
11:41It has allowed the dollar to be the supreme currency of choice globally.
11:46We have to protect the American dollar.
11:49I'm going to do that.
11:51The crypto-crats, if they had their way, they would own every member of Congress.
12:02Every member.
12:03But there are some who resist.
12:05I am a part of the resistance.
12:08As a matter of fact, I may be at the tip of the spear of the resistance,
12:14a part of the avant-garde.
12:16I am the resistance to a certain extent.
12:20There are others, but I assure you,
12:23I am going to remain the architect of some portion of this resistance
12:32as long as I'm in Congress.
12:34And therein is the operative phrase for the crypto-crats, he said,
12:39as long as he's in Congress.
12:40Well, if we just get him out of Congress, we don't have him to contend with.
12:44Well, you can do that.
12:46But there are others who will follow.
12:48There are.
12:49There are others who are already in the fight.
12:51They are.
12:52They're there.
12:54But I can assure you of this.
12:55I'm going to fight you to the bitter end.
12:59Until my last days, I will fight what I see as a demise of the dollar,
13:05a peer-to-peer transference of money such that you can avoid taxes,
13:09the creation of nothing and selling it as something.
13:13This is the epitome of ridiculosity to allow such things to occur and not challenge them.
13:20I assure all who listen, I'm going to protect your wallet.
13:26There are people who say they want to put more money in your wallet.
13:29Well, I'm going to protect your wallet and make sure that you can get money in your wallet
13:33and not allow people to cleverly disguise themselves,
13:37to cleverly disguise themselves as persons who want to regulate
13:42when, in fact, they just want to pass something under the guise of regulation
13:46so that the cryptocurrency, the cryptocrats can continue to move in the direction of dominance
13:57with the cryptocurrency, the crypto dollars, as it were.
14:02This is not something that we should take lightly, and I do not.
14:06But I want to assure you that I am censured but not silenced.
14:13And I also want to assure you of something else.
14:21The countdown to impeachment continues.
14:25Because what the president has done, as it relates to wars, relates to pumping and dumping,
14:38which I've explained earlier, and as it relates to his disrespect for the Constitution of the United States of America,
14:47he's done things that are clearly impeachable.
14:51It's just a matter of time, Mr. President.
14:55Your day will come.
14:58Someone is going to stand in the well of the House of Representatives
15:02and read articles of impeachment to remove you from office.
15:06It would be the thing that this country should do
15:10so as to prevent another cryptocrat such as yourself.
15:15Yes, the president is a cryptocrat.
15:17To prevent another cryptocrat such as yourself from assuming power.
15:23We have to protect American democracy from the cryptocrats.
15:29We've already had a former vice president to say that this president is a great threat to the republic.
15:36I think he said the greatest threat to the republic.
15:40President Donald Trump.
15:43Threat to the republic.
15:44Threat to democracy.
15:47Cryptocracy is his main concern, it seems,
15:53because there's a family business that he's brought to the White House,
15:57and they are using this family business to make billions of dollars
16:02at the expense of unsuspecting Americans and people of other stripes as well.
16:09But I am censured, not silenced,
16:15and I'm engaging in a countdown to impeachment.
16:18I know that there are people who want to know when.
16:21It will happen when it happens.
16:23And I assure you, it's going to happen.
16:26So, Mr. Speaker, I'm grateful for the time.
16:30And I'm proud to say that I'm Al Green.
16:34The OG Al Green.
16:40Unbought, unbossed, unafraid, uncontrolled by the cryptocrats.
16:46I yield back the balance of my time.
