The Shah Alam Sessions Court has fixed July 15 for decision on the representation to the Attorney-General Chambers (AGC) submitted by the founders of convenience store chain KK Supermart & Superstore Sdn Bhd Group asd well as the supplier of the controversial socks and the company's three directors.

00:00 The Sessions Court in Shah Alam has fixed July 15 for a decision on the representation

00:13 KK Supermart and Superstore Sendirian Berhad Group. The representation was filed by KK Group
00:19 founder and Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Chai Ki Khan and his wife Datin Seri Low
00:26 Siu Mui through their legal team. The couple were charged at the same court on March 26
00:33 for allegedly intentionally wounding the religious feelings of others over the sale of socks
00:38 bearing the word "Allah". The charge was framed under Section 298 of the Penal Code,
00:43 which provides for a prison sentence of up to a year or a fine, or both if convicted.
00:49 The same date to decide on the representation was also set by Judge Muhammad Anas Mahadzir
00:55 for the supplier of the socks, Shinjen Chang Sendirian Berhad, and the company's three
01:00 directors for the same charge. The request for a new date was made by Deputy Public Prosecutor
01:07 Khairul Azrim Mahmat. He told the court that the AGC had received representation from all
01:13 the parties who were charged and the prosecution was seeking a new date to examine and consider
01:20 the representations. After proceedings, one of Chai's legal counsels said in the representation
01:26 his clients and the company had sought for the charges against them to be withdrawn.
