00:00 There's a much larger security presence here at the Arts West building on the Parkville
00:05 campus of the University of Melbourne.
00:07 At least a dozen security guards stationed around the perimeter of the building, blocking
00:12 the entrances and taking details of everyone coming and going.
00:16 But so far, no sign of police, despite repeated threats from the university that they could
00:21 call police at any time on the protesters inside and that those protesters could face
00:26 disciplinary action from the university itself as well.
00:30 Those threats haven't been actioned as yet and the university protesters show no sign
00:34 that they're planning to leave the building.
00:36 As they continue their calls for the university to cut ties with weapons manufacturers.
00:41 The university building here in Melbourne is still occupied and there's a large protest
00:46 camp ongoing on South Lawn as well, just nearby.
00:49 It's a similar story at universities right around the country, with protest groups showing
00:53 little sign of letting up.
00:55 The La Trobe here in Melbourne, the university yesterday issued a statement saying the protest
00:59 camp there needs to be disbanded.
01:01 They say they've launched misconduct proceedings against those students after they ignored
01:06 a directive to disband their camp on Friday.
01:09 That doesn't seem like enough to discourage the protesters there.
01:14 All of these protesters have been calling for weeks now for the universities to disclose
01:19 and cut ties with weapons manufacturers.
01:21 So far the universities have been unwilling to meet those demands but also unwilling to
01:26 call in police on the protesters after we saw those scenes in the US earlier this year
01:32 where there was violence and mass arrests as police forcibly disbanded protest groups.
