00:03 Elsewhere DRS, yesterday in the NBA playoffs, only a single game.
00:08 And although we expected Minnesota to maybe hold serve on their home floor,
00:14 not to the tune of a 45 point win.
00:18 The Timberwolves have the largest margin of victory in any team's favor in
00:23 an NBA playoff game since 2015, in nearly a decade,
00:28 as they blow out the reigning champs, the Denver Nuggets, 115 to 70.
00:34 A 45 point win as Minnesota staves off elimination in a big way,
00:40 keeps its season afloat, and forces a game seven back in Denver on Sunday.
00:46 >> You know, yesterday, Ben, I didn't like the side of this game.
00:48 I was like, you know what, I think anybody can win this one.
00:50 Well, apparently in the final score, not anybody can win it.
00:52 It was gonna be the Timberwolves.
00:54 And how did the Nuggets show up in quarter number one and score 14 points, and
00:57 then outdo themselves in quarter number four, and score nine points overall?
01:01 That's outrageous at this point.
01:02 But I feel like I was robbed last night, Ben.
01:04 What did I say?
01:05 I need 40 plus minutes and 40 plus points out of Anthony Edwards yesterday,
01:10 who had, I believe, 18 or 19 at the break,
01:12 easily going to cruise to that 29 and a half number.
01:15 >> Yeah. >> He stopped at 27.
01:17 Why?
01:17 Cuz they get beat by about 50 points last night.
01:20 I don't know.
01:20 This series is off of the rails here.
01:23 So many trips and turns, and this team won three games.
01:26 This team opened up 2-0 in their home court.
01:28 And now we're finally going to see a game number seven.
01:30 An unbelievable performance by the Timberwolves, backed up by a,
01:34 what the heck performance was that by the Nuggets here, Ben?
01:36 >> DRS, we have seen in this series,
01:40 every single game never be decided by less than seven points.
01:46 Game number one was our closest, 106-99.
01:49 Game three in Minnesota, 115-107.
01:53 These games have been blowouts.
01:54 We've seen Minnesota win by 26 and 45.
01:58 Denver win by 15 plus points.
02:00 It is crazy.
02:01 The Timberwolves do cover as a two and a half point favorite,
02:05 as you would expect on their home floor, winning by 45.
02:08 A total of 204 and a hook stays under, as Denver only registers 70 points.
02:14 More reaction coming from that game in the NBA playoffs in just a little bit.
02:18 Hockey news last night.
02:20 The Rangers were down three to one, entering the third and final period.
02:24 Enter Chris Kreider, a game that will live on in New York Rangers lore forever.
02:30 Kreider scores three goals himself in the third period.
02:34 The Rangers add one late on an empty net, and they advance to the Eastern Conference
02:38 finals for the second time in the past three seasons, with a 5-3 victory
02:42 on the road in Carolina as an underdog to win this series in six.
02:47 >> I mean, I've talked about this so
02:48 many times from an NBA perspective here in the playoffs.
02:51 I need my best players to perform in the biggest games here in order to secure a win.
02:55 A natural hat trick, which is three goals by himself in the third period.
02:59 And not just three goals, three goals in a row in the third period,
03:02 when they were down three to one entering into the third.
03:04 And quite frankly, I feel ashamed of myself in this,
03:07 because I was paying attention to this game.
03:09 And I did know it was three to one at the end of the second period.
03:11 And I was ramped up for a game number seven in the garden.
03:14 My goodness, could the Rangers blow this?
03:16 Only to be surprised when I saw the final score later at night at 5-3.
03:19 What an incredible performance for the Rangers as they move on to the Eastern
03:22 Conference Finals.
03:24 >> The Rangers, the best team in the NHL's regular season,
03:27 winners of the President's Trophy.
03:29 They are the first winner of the President's Trophy to even reach a conference
03:33 finals since the 2015 Rangers did that as well.
03:37 President's Trophy curse dwindling by the series elsewhere out west
03:42 in the second game of a doubleheader in the Stanley Cup postseason.
03:45 It has been anything but easy for Edmonton in their set against Vancouver.
03:50 The Canucks win again.
03:52 They score in the final 40 seconds of regulation.
03:55 Let me get the individual's name to make sure I don't mess it up.
03:58 JT Miller nets the game winner in the final minute.
04:01 The Canucks win three to two.
04:03 They take a three-two series lead.
04:05 Vancouver a home underdog last night on home ice up in British Columbia.
04:11 >> Yeah, Vancouver not getting a lot of respect in the series overall.
04:13 And yet here they are with a chance to close out the Edmonton Oilers now.
04:16 Now the Edmonton Oilers as my adopted team here, I'm hoping that is not the case
04:20 because I enjoy that brand of style.
04:21 But in games that we always expect to go over, this one stays under with only five
04:25 total goals with a six and a half at Fanville yesterday.
04:28 >> Yeah, that it certainly did.
04:30 All right, elsewhere in the WNBA,
04:32 Kaitlin Clark's home debut in Indianapolis was not exactly the best
04:38 outing for Clark or for anybody on Indiana's side.
04:42 The New York Liberty enter Indy and
04:45 spoil that home debut in front of a sold out crowd.
04:49 102-66, the Liberty nearly win by 40,
04:54 easily covering as an eight and a half point road favorite.
04:57 >> Stewie dropped to 31 and 10 in prime time there, 102 to 66.
05:01 We have to understand this.
05:02 The Fever were the worst team in the WNBA last year.
05:04 It's understandable that they're going to get beat by better teams.
05:07 You just don't want to get beat this bad on your home court here.
05:11 Not a great look for the Fever.
05:12 They'll get better as the season goes along and so will Kaitlin Clark.
05:15 >> They need to figure out how to utilize Kaitlin Clark.
05:18 Only nine points though last night, one of seven from deep.
05:21 Did have seven rebounds and six assists, only three turnovers.
05:25 Starting to figure out the orchestration a little bit, but
05:28 one of the best point guards in the history of college basketball is playing
05:31 often off ball as a two guard, make it make sense in Indiana.
05:35 Not a lot of time though in training camp from the end of a college basketball
05:39 season through the WNBA draft where we are now already in regular season action.
05:43 Baseball news, the Yankees complete the sweep,
05:46 shutting out the Twins once again.
05:48 Five nothing yesterday in Minneapolis.
05:50 DRS in three games, the Twins scored a single run.
05:54 >> Yeah, you can't come on now.
05:55 Like we were talking about a great series that was shaping up,
05:57 great series by the New York Yankees for sure.
05:59 But what happened to the bats of the Twins that were supposed to be able to hit
06:02 these type of pitchers using so many left handed batters?
06:04 Disappointing to say the least, but I'm gonna tell you right now,
06:07 the Twins might be back on the Twins bandwagon today with a couple RBI shots,
06:11 B double S.
06:12 >> We will have that for you entering this weekend.
06:14 It went to extras yesterday in the fourth and final game this week between
06:18 the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.
06:20 This one in Philly, the Phil's trying to pull off a four game sweep.
06:24 It goes to extras.
06:25 The Mets had other ideas.
06:27 They win in 11, 6-5, holding on in extras.
06:30 >> Enough with the pass balls, Phillies bullpen.
06:32 You can't win them all.
06:33 Good win by the Mets, bad loss by the Phil's, and they move on.
06:36 Price and stop pretty good this week though for Philadelphia.
06:40 All right, so much coming your way here in this show.
06:43 We will continue to update anything you need to know.
06:45 The PGA Championship next.
