00:00Amongst the cobbled streets of the city centre, Liverpool's Georgian Quarter is

00:08Bookending Hope Street are the city's two cathedrals. Surviving two world wars,

00:14periods of recession and great hardship, a Liverpool Cathedral is more than an

00:18iconic building. It's a vibrant, active place, attracting visitors from across

00:23the world. At the other end of the street is the Metropolitan Cathedral, known

00:27affectionately by locals as Paddy's Wigwam. Home to the UK's oldest continuing

00:34professional symphony orchestra, the Liverpool Philharmonic plays host to a

00:38packed programme of concerts, talks and events. One of the UK's leading concert

00:43halls, it is the biggest music organisation in the city. As well as the

00:47award-winning orchestra, you can catch classic films, stand-up and much more

00:51here at the venue. As well as places of worship and cultural venues, the Georgian

00:56Quarter is home to plenty of places to satisfy an appetite and quell a thirst.

01:05they're also where you can find a number of restaurants with both casual and fine

01:22most tired of traveller. If you live here, you might just know them as the

01:27Hope Street Suitcases. A case history was created by John King and went on

01:31display in 1998. Composed of coloured concrete suitcases, it's not only a nod

01:36to Liverpool's port history, but the bronze luggage tags carry the names of

01:40notable individuals and institutions associated with the city. This is such a

01:46picturesque part of the city, you cannot help but feel as if you have been

01:51transported somewhere completely different, but we are still here in our

01:56beautiful home city of Liverpool.
