00:00 With the 29th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected offensive tackle
00:10 Tyler Guyton out of the University of Oklahoma.
00:13 Guyton started his college career at TCU where he played in nine games.
00:17 He then transferred to the University of Oklahoma and played in 20 games for the Sooners.
00:21 He played most of his games at right guard.
00:24 At his time at Oklahoma, he started in 14 of the 20 games and allowed just two sacks
00:29 in all 20 games played.
00:30 Guyton earned honorable mention all Big 12 and played a career high 663 sacks and allowed
00:37 zero sacks on his 355 pass blocking snaps.
00:41 Guyton is a Texas native coming out of Manor, Texas, a suburb outside of Austin.
00:46 After Guyton was drafted, he said his heart dropped when the Cowboys traded down at 24,
00:50 but he finally realized a dream come true by being picked by his favorite team and getting
00:55 to replace a childhood idol, Tyron Smith at left tackle.
00:59 The Cowboys originally had the 24th overall pick but traded down to the Detroit Lions,
01:04 getting the 29th pick, giving the Lions the 24th overall pick plus their 7th overall pick
01:10 in 2025 in return for the 29th pick and the 73rd pick in the third round.
01:15 This way Dallas will have four top 100 picks.
01:18 Now the draft will continue on Friday and conclude on Saturday afternoon.
