South Shields has many beautiful, large parks across the borough which have been enjoyed by residents of our town for centuries.  But which park is the favourite among South Shields residents?   We asked, and while the answers were varied, one park certainly took the top spot as the favourite of South Shields.

00:10 our rich history including Ben's Park which is known for hosting the South

00:15 Shrineside summer festivals. Other well-known and loved parks in South

00:19 Shields include Redhead Park, Mowbray Park, West Park and Cleveland Park among

00:24 others. We asked the residents of South Shields what their favourite park is and

00:31 while a few of the popular ones got a good mention the clear winners were the

00:35 North and South Marine Park. Both of these seafront parks keep a lot of their

00:40 original character while they have also been revamped to suit the modern world.
