Burnley FC writer Matt Scrafton gives his verdict on the 4-1 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Transcript
00:00 Just heading out of Bramall Lane here where Burnley secured a much needed 4-1 win.
00:06 Absolute dream result really, coming into this game all the talk of a must win, which is exactly what it was.
00:11 If they'd lost today that really would have been it for their survival hopes.
00:14 Yeah, and it all went their way. Bit of good fortune with the two goals just before half time.
00:20 Two goals in three minutes after an even first half, but one where Sheffield United probably had better chances.
00:25 Murich with some two or three really big saves. But Burnley stuck in there, had some chances of their own.
00:32 Got that bit of luck, two scruffy goals, but it's about time really where a bit of fortune went in their favour.
00:38 You knew Sheffield United were going to come out at the end of the second half, at the start of the second half, sorry.
00:43 Which is exactly what they did. Got back in it and you're thinking, OK, it's going to be a difficult second half.
00:47 But Burnley thankfully restored that two goal cushion straight away with Ralf Roster 3-1.
00:51 Made it 4-1 through Goodminton and the last 20, 25 minutes were nice and comfortable for a change.
00:57 So Burnley did exactly what they needed to do.
01:02 Gap to safety is now three points ahead of a massive game elsewhere tomorrow with Everton playing Forest.
01:08 I think you probably want Everton to win that, to keep Forest within three points and hopefully take it down to the final day
01:14 where of course Forest come to turf more. So, still on, still alive. Burnley are still in there and they're still fighting.
