00:00 The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has lodged police reports
00:06 against three individuals for allegedly making false accusations about its officers.
00:12 In a statement released on Saturday, the MCMC said the reports were lodged on Friday over
00:18 content uploaded by Badrul Hisham Shaharin, popularly known as Chegubard, Muhammad Salim
00:23 Iskandar, and Wan Muhammad Azri Wanderis, also known as Papagomo, across various social media
00:30 platforms including TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube on April 17.
00:36 According to the MCMC, the content in question insinuates that its officers acted upon political
00:42 directives and abused their authority.
00:45 MCMC added that the three falsely claimed that the officers were heard saying in a recording
00:51 expressing discontent with the current government and questioning the timing of potential administrative
00:56 changes.
00:58 The agency categorically denied the accusations, saying that as a statutory body, the MCMC
01:04 carries out its duties according to the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988 and all subsidiary
01:11 laws contained within.
