00:00 The next stage of Greater Manchester's B Network expansion has been announced.
00:05 The B Network bus franchising is set to be rolled out across a wider area of the
00:09 region at the end of March and will be under public control for the first time
00:14 in almost 40 years following the launch of the B Network in September.
00:19 Yellow buses will be taking to the streets of Oldham, Rochdale and parts of
00:23 Bury, Salford and North Manchester. This next phase will mean 324 bus routes
00:30 will be under the control of Transport for Greater Manchester which is 50% of
00:35 the region's bus network. This latest step for public transport was launched
00:40 on Sunday the 24th of March and a range of developments have been announced as
00:44 part of the next phase. The B Network is Greater Manchester's plan for an
00:49 integrated, affordable and accessible transport network system combining bus
00:53 trams bikes with the largest walking, wheeling and cycling network anywhere in
00:58 the UK.
