Over 2,500 people sign a petition opposing an increase to car parking charges in Burgess Hill

Kieran James outlines what the petition is about and how other towns in Mid Sussex are effected

00:00 Hi there, I'm Kieran James with the Burgess Hill Business Association as well as the

00:04 Burgess Hill Residents Association. We're here today at Mid Sussex District

00:08 Council because we have put forward a petition that has collected 2,800

00:12 signatures across the district. East Gwinstead Business Association and

00:16 Hayworth's Heath Business Association have also been really helpful in collecting

00:19 signatures as well as a lot of local representatives. So today we're going to

00:23 go hand in our petition and hope to see the decision regarding the parking

00:27 charges overturned which has seen to a 10% increase in Burgess Hill, 20% in Hayworth's Heath,

00:32 30% in East Gwinstead and includes Sundays, evenings and bank holiday charges.
