00:00 On today's episode of the Mark Titus Show, this is March and March is spectacular.
00:04 I am very happy, man.
00:05 We're recording this on Thursday evening.
00:07 The Buckeyes just beat Iowa.
00:09 We are 40 minutes away from an NCAA tournament berth.
00:11 And I realize for most of you listening to this, Converse Tournament play is really,
00:17 really underway.
00:19 On Friday, all of the top teams will have tipped off at least, you know, like your SECs
00:25 and your Big Ten, all the double-bye teams will start playing on Friday.
00:29 So by the time most of you listen to this, it will be irrelevant information and we're
00:35 on to the next round and all that sort of thing.
00:37 But I just wanted to pause for a second and say it feels so good to feel something.
00:40 It feels so good to be watching March basketball and be invested, be heavily invested, be,
00:48 you know, crying when shots aren't falling and losing your mind when they are and everything
00:53 in between.
00:54 What a day.
00:55 I have longed for this day for a couple years now.
00:58 And it's here and whatever happens against Illinois, I don't know, we'll talk about it.
01:01 We'll talk about all that.
01:02 But man, it was so fun today.
01:03 We were doing a live stream at Chili's for a little while.
01:07 I was with the "Pardon My Take" guys.
01:08 We were watching ball all day and then we did the live stream here at the gambling cave
01:13 here at Barstool.
01:14 And March is here.
01:15 March is here.
01:16 I'm feeling things.
01:17 I never thought I would feel things for this particular Ohio State basketball team.
01:20 And we beat the hell out of Iowa.
01:22 I mean, it wasn't quite a blowout in terms of score, but we led the entire way.
01:28 We played the game on our terms.
01:29 Jamison Battle was insane in the second half.
01:32 The Buckeyes are red hot.
01:34 And those of you that were rolling your eyes and laughing at me when I, you know, we won
01:38 a couple under Jake Diebler and I was like, I don't know, tournament's still in play.
01:43 It's very much in play.
01:44 I hope you know I'm not joking.
01:45 Like, we had Tate on the show and, you know, we were obviously homers and we're leaning
01:49 into it a little bit, but I hope like reality is starting to set in that if Ohio State beats
01:53 Illinois, we have to be in the NCAA tournament.
01:55 We have to.
01:56 Anyway, Thursday is mostly in the books.
02:00 There's still some good games going on.
02:01 But like I said, I'm just going to record and we're going to put the show out and apologies
02:05 if Villanova Marquette was an all time banger, which it probably will be knowing how things
02:10 generally work for me.
02:12 And Indiana Penn State probably will be too.
02:15 Those are both, they just tipped off.
02:17 But we're going to record the show, talk about what we're seeing so far in these conference
02:21 tournaments and do a little coaching carousel stuff because, yeah, the coaching carousel
02:26 is starting to pick up and I have a feeling this could be an all time coaching carousel.
02:30 And so far it's tracking that way.
02:32 It's tracking that way for sure.
02:34 So we'll talk about all that.
02:35 But I got to talk about my book, guys.
02:37 Let's get into it.
02:38 Quick break to talk about our friends at DraftKings.
02:40 The thrill and excitement of March Mania is here and DraftKings Sportsbook, one of America's
02:44 top rated sportsbook apps, is giving new customers a shot to turn five bucks into one hundred
02:48 and fifty dollars instantly in bonus bets with any college basketball bet.
02:52 That's right.
02:53 To celebrate college basketball's most frenzied time of year, DraftKings is giving new customers
02:57 a shot to rack up some bonus bets and DraftKings is now live in North Carolina.
03:05 North Carolina.
03:06 It's hard to it's hard to read North Carolina and not think of Petey Pablo.
03:10 Download the DraftKings Sportsbook app and use code Titus.
03:13 New customers can bet five bucks to get one hundred and fifty dollars instantly in bonus
03:17 bets only at DraftKings Sportsbook with code Titus.
03:20 The crown is yours.
03:22 All right.
03:23 Duke and Creighton both lost.
03:24 We just got done watching those games and then we came in to record.
03:28 And like I said, apologies for we just I made a business decision.
03:32 The Marquette Creighton game.
03:33 It's not that I didn't think or the Marquette Villanova game.
03:35 It's not that I didn't care about it or think it's good.
03:37 It's more that like when you're doing shows this time of year, there is a very quick,
03:42 expert, short shelf life for these shows.
03:43 So whatever, I made the business decision.
03:46 We're just going to record now.
03:47 And apologies again if we get like a Syracuse UConn six overtime thriller out of one of
03:54 these games and you're listening and you're like, why the hell didn't you talk about that?
03:57 It's because I'm self-centered and it is my show.
03:59 I named the show after myself and my alma mater is surging.
04:02 And I was like, you know what?
04:03 Fuck it.
04:04 I'm going to talk about the Buckeyes.
04:05 So here's the thing.
04:08 The Bucs are hot.
04:09 We're red hot.
04:10 And like I said at the top, it's no longer a joke.
04:13 This is a very serious thing.
04:15 We have Illinois tomorrow.
04:16 Illinois is a very good team.
04:18 Now the one sliver of optimism beyond, we are playing very well.
04:25 And Tate and I are already kind of exhausted at all, so I don't need to revisit all of
04:28 it.
04:29 But yeah, the bench is way deeper than it was under Holtman.
04:33 The trust in guys is up.
04:37 You can just tell, like Scottie Middleton is catching and shooting wide open threes
04:41 and hitting them.
04:42 Not to say that he wasn't at the start of the year, but he's just like, he's playing
04:47 a lot more confidently.
04:48 And Devin Royall is a guy who's really blossomed under Jake Diebler.
04:53 And then the guys, the Bruce Thorntons and the Rowdy Gales and the Jamison Battles, all
04:58 these guys across the board are just playing more confidently.
05:03 This isn't something that is, we're not just talking ourselves into this is what I want
05:08 to say.
05:09 This is a completely different Ohio State team in terms of how they play and how confident
05:13 they are.
05:14 And that's not to say the rest of the season doesn't matter.
05:16 It does, it should.
05:17 But also, we didn't have our coach for most of the season.
05:20 And now we're 6-1 with our head coach and we are absolutely rolling.
05:24 But I just wanted to talk about the feeling of caring about March basketball.
05:32 It is the greatest feeling on planet earth and it is what I've been missing so much.
05:36 And I say this knowing 24 hours from when we were recording this, my heart might get
05:41 ripped out of its chest.
05:42 If we lose Illinois, we will not make the NCAA tournament.
05:44 If we beat Illinois, we should.
05:46 By the way, I understand if we beat Illinois and then win the next game, which will be
05:51 against a Nebraska or whoever wins Indiana, Penn State, I think that's who we would play
05:57 if we are to beat Illinois.
06:00 I think that if we win the three, we're definitely in.
06:05 If we beat Illinois, we will have beaten Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa.
06:14 We beat Alabama earlier in the year.
06:15 We beat Nebraska at home.
06:17 We will have six wins.
06:19 Look at the rest of the bubble and tell me what team has six wins that are as good as
06:22 those.
06:23 And five of those are in the last month.
06:25 So it's no longer like, wouldn't it be funny if we fired our coach and made the NCAA tournament.
06:32 I legitimately think as it stands right now, our resume, should we beat Illinois tomorrow,
06:37 our resume will be NCAA tournament worthy.
06:40 And I just hope that all the people that gave up on Ohio State earlier in the year and said
06:45 we don't have to worry about ever checking in on whether they're going to be a tournament
06:48 team.
06:49 I hope they're paying attention because we're absolutely a tournament team.
06:52 But whether we make it or not, I just want to say this before my heart gets ripped out
06:57 and I take all of this back.
07:00 Feeling something's all you ever really want.
07:02 As it turns out, only one team wins the national championship every year and every other team
07:07 basically you know, there are NIT championships that you feel good about in under certain
07:11 context and there are CBI and CIT and what other ones do we have now?
07:17 I think those are it.
07:18 I think they got rid of, we used to have, there was like a year or two where there were
07:21 like eight tournaments going on.
07:22 Did they ever do that like Vegas one that they were talking about?
07:25 Oh yeah, like Fox was trying to.
07:27 Is that a this year thing?
07:28 No, no.
07:29 It's probably for the best.
07:31 They were talking about, yeah, but I don't know.
07:34 I don't know if that's actually, I need to actually look up on that and see if that was
07:38 just like an idea they were throwing out there just to, I swear some of these ideas are just
07:42 like temperature gauges.
07:43 They just like throw it out there just to see how the public reacts.
07:46 And then when, and then they ultimately like dial the idea down a little bit and then that's
07:50 what the reality is.
07:51 But they just want to like set the temperature of, of the insanity.
07:55 But yeah, man, feeling something is, is incredible and there truly is nothing like it.
07:59 And with March Madness, it's all I really want and all any of us really want is we say
08:05 that we want a deep run, but as it turns out, like we just start bargaining once we go on
08:10 the deep run and you're, you start moving the goalposts and you're like, well, you know,
08:15 final four is awesome.
08:16 But like now that we're here, we should win the national championship or you go to the
08:19 sweet 16.
08:20 Why not us?
08:21 Why can't we?
08:22 And you're always, you're always moving the goalposts and then when you do lose, you're
08:24 always disappointed and that's how it works.
08:26 And and I understand that when Ohio state season ends, I will be very disappointed and
08:30 I'll be sad.
08:31 And you know, I, unless we won the national championship, which is looking increasingly
08:35 likely as, as time goes on.
08:38 But as it turns out, all any of us really want is a ticket to the ride.
08:42 We just want, we just want to have a ticket onto the ride that is March Madness, the ups,
08:46 the downs, the twist, the turns.
08:48 You just want to ride the ride.
08:49 And TJ, you can attest to this.
08:51 Yeah, I wrote it.
08:52 Not ride the ride right now.
08:53 I wrote the ride for a zero seconds of our game against Maryland.
08:57 We went down 11, nothing almost instantly.
09:00 And I am now looking for a bandwagon to get on top of.
09:02 So OH, I, Oh baby, let's go.
09:06 Let's get the band.
09:07 Let's get the bandwagon rolling.
09:08 And that's really it for me.
09:09 And that's why I feel like shot out of a cannon is because it's less about like, I don't even
09:14 know what my expectation is for this Ohio state team at this point.
09:17 I don't even, I don't realistically think we're going to win the Big Ten tournament.
09:21 I don't realistically think if we do get into the NCAA tournament, we're going to go to
09:24 a final four or anything like that.
09:27 But I just, I want to, you want to prolong the ride as long as you can.
09:31 And just the, the, the feelings, the emotions, the excitement of what could possibly be is
09:36 all you really actually want.
09:38 And and I had that and, and I felt that all day today.

10:07 Uh, yeah, do please do.
10:08 It is a, it is a very ridiculous as only big cat can do.
10:12 Big cat is, uh, I've seen that man's torso way too much in my life.
10:18 I think we all have, and yet you still can't get enough of it.
10:20 Go check out the Body Armor ad.
10:22 Body Armor Zero Sugar is available in stores nationwide.
10:25 Head on over to the Body Armor store on Amazon and get yours today.
10:29 I went full kit wanker, as they say in, in soccer parlance today.
10:33 Uh, which I, I, you know, I'm getting roasted for, but as I would like to point out to everybody
10:37 and I pointed out on mostly sports, uh, I am one of the greatest full kit wankers of
10:41 all time.
10:42 Um, I have now, if you count today, which I think you should, uh, cause I was, I was
10:47 in a full uniform, including the LeBron.
10:50 What are these?
10:51 The force?
10:52 Yeah.
10:53 The LeBron fours.
10:54 Um, from back in the, uh, Tate asked me if these were game worn and I had to very seriously,
10:59 I wasn't even trying to make a joke.
11:00 I was like, I don't think they're game worn.
11:02 They were practice worn.
11:03 I know, but I don't, I don't think these ever saw the court in a game.
11:08 Um, but if you count tonight, I have won 110 games by putting on my Jersey and just sitting
11:13 there and watching the team play.
11:14 So, uh, I don't know if I have to do this again tomorrow.
11:17 I don't know if that's going to keep the good vibes going.
11:19 But uh, as far as full kit wankers go, um, I, I am one of the goats and I, I will proudly
11:26 declare that.
11:27 So, uh, roast me all you want, but you can't argue with the results.
11:30 Uh, other stuff going on tonight.
11:32 Uh, Duke lost.
11:34 That's crazy.
11:35 Ohio state suddenly Jake, so Jake Marsh is doing this thing right now.
11:38 That's, that's driving me crazy.
11:40 Um, I, as Ohio state is, we've played our way onto the bubble.
11:44 I think after tonight, I was out, I think we take Iowa spot.
11:48 Um, and I think it's, it's fair to say that we're on the bubble now.
11:51 We're probably on the wrong side of the bubble, but we're, we're now on the bubble.
11:54 We're in the discussion and this is a, this is a new thing for me.
11:59 Um, following the bubble this closely.
12:01 I, I generally, as I cover college basketball throughout the year, I don't really give a
12:05 shit about the bubble teams.
12:06 Um, I, the bubble teams to me are the teams that play against the teams I care about.
12:11 Um, so you know, Providence is a good example.
12:15 Like I was watching Providence Creighton and Devin Carter's great and I, I don't mean to
12:18 besmirch what Kim English is doing there and it was a great win against Creighton, but
12:22 uh, a team like Providence that the story to me is that they, that Creighton lost and
12:27 I was more watching Creighton cause I'm more interested in like trying to figure out who
12:30 the best teams in the country are and who, um, we can expect to see in the final four
12:34 and all that sort of stuff.
12:35 And I think that's kind of natural.
12:36 You watch sports, you kind of gravitate to the better teams.
12:39 Um, so I, I generally don't pay that much of attention to the bubble, but obviously
12:43 I have a very, very vested interest in what's going on with the bubble now.
12:47 So I have, I was watching all day today trying to figure out who's on the bubble, but, but
12:53 a lot of the teams playing, it was like a, like Pitt and Wake Forest was a great example.
12:57 Um, both teams were kind of on the bubble.
12:59 So and Iowa, Ohio state was the same way.
13:02 Um, so I'm watching Pitt Wake Forest and I don't even know who I'm supposed to cheer
13:05 for and I'm like going through all the brackets, all the bracketology brackets out there trying
13:10 to like figure out who's, if this team wins, what does that mean for Ohio?
13:17 It's turned me into a madman.
13:18 Living on the bubble is the most stressful thing in the world.
13:21 Um, and then Jake Marsh comes along as we're watching, as we're watching NC state Duke,
13:25 I'm cheering for NC state for, I would say 35 minutes of the game.
13:30 Um, and NC state's playing great, uh, as they kind of did the first time they played Duke,
13:34 they just couldn't really get it over the hump.
13:35 They, they, uh, they, they, they played, I mean, DJ Burns and the last time they played
13:40 Duke, I should say, um, he was awesome and, and it looked like they might be pulling off
13:44 the upset, uh, then.
13:47 So I, it's not exactly stunning that they, they, they knocked off Duke tonight, but,
13:50 uh, I was, I was cheering against Duke because you know, Duke has positioned themselves back
13:55 on top of the villain thrown in college basketball and it's very easy to cheer against them.
13:59 Um, and then Jake Marsh just drops a bomb on me out of nowhere, TJ and says, you have
14:04 to worry now about NC state being a bid stealer.
14:07 And I didn't even, I didn't even think about bid stealers.
14:10 So now I have another pot of teams.
14:14 I have to like NC state is not on the bubble.
14:16 NC state has to win the ACC tournament to make the NCAA tournament.
14:21 Um, so I, I like hadn't worried about them.
14:24 So I was cheering for NC state cause I was like, just beat Duke.
14:26 Like that's funny.
14:27 I hate like let's cheer against Duke and hope Filipowski, you know, which by the way, Filipowski,
14:32 I don't know if you noticed, he almost dude, a tour, there's two minutes left and you realize
14:36 you're going to lose.
14:37 He starts limping.
14:38 What the hell was that?
14:39 It's his storming leg.
14:40 He's got it all wrapped up.
14:42 That was so funny.
14:44 Um, and then Jake Morris introduces this idea that I have to worry about bid stealers
14:48 now and he's like, you don't have to worry about NC state unless they, you know, make
14:52 the final.
14:53 But now NC state has to pull out, probably play Virginia to get to the championship or
14:56 they'll probably play North Carolina.
14:58 And you're like, well, damn, what if NC state went to ACC tournament and steals a bid?
15:03 So I don't know where I'm going with that other than to say like Jake has introduced
15:06 a whole nother level of stress that I didn't even realize existed until right now, which
15:12 is like, I gotta, I gotta worry about the bid stealer.
15:15 So now I'm worried about the bubble teams.
15:16 I'm worried about the bid stealers.
15:17 Providence beats Creighton, which isn't good for Ohio state because Providence is on the
15:20 bubble and that was a big win for them.
15:22 Congratulations to Providence.
15:23 But also you have to understand, I'm not really thrilled about that.
15:26 Um, NC state is actually playing really well.
15:30 Like it's the second Jake said it and was like, yeah, NC state could be a bit sooner.
15:33 I was like, they're not going to win the ACC tournament.
15:34 And he's like, I don't know.
15:36 And I think it was the way he said, I don't know.
15:37 I was like, fuck dude, fuck.
15:40 I was a pretty good, I don't know, Jake.
15:42 You got me thinking now.
15:43 Um, cause they are hot.
15:45 They got, they got, they got talent and um, very balanced scoring.
15:48 I think they had like five guys in double figures tonight.
15:50 Uh, and, and yeah, it's a good team.
15:53 And Kevin Keats is coaching for his job.
15:55 Uh, still might get fired, but if he won the ACC tournament, they get into the tournament,
16:00 you know, maybe he doesn't.
16:01 So, um, yeah, Duke goes down.
16:03 Duke has now lost two in a row.
16:05 Uh, and yeah, like I, like I've been saying about Duke, I mean, it continues to be true
16:08 to me is like, they, they have an insane amount of talent.
16:11 And Kyle Filipowski, 28 and 14 tonight, three steals.
16:16 He's, he's an incredible, incredible basketball player.
16:19 He also, uh, had the ball taken away for, I don't know if it was a steal or was it like
16:23 on a rebound, whatever, at the end of the game when he basically is going after ball,
16:28 doesn't get it.
16:29 And then he comes up limping and it's just, you can't help but roll your eyes.
16:33 You're like this guy's leg as, as Duke's chances of winning the basketball game, decrease
16:39 Kyle, the pain that Kyle Filipowski is feeling in his leg increases.
16:43 It's, it's, it's the wildest thing you've ever seen.
16:45 Um, yeah, I, I think Duke is soft.
16:47 Uh, the Duke could very easily go to a final four Duke is, you know, like nothing they
16:52 do in the tournament will surprise me either way at this point.
16:55 Um, they have all the talent.
16:56 They, they, it's a very good basketball team, but I think, uh, when, when they are going
17:01 up against a team that, I mean, you know, to be reductionist and just speaking cliches,
17:07 like when they do seem to play a team that wants it more, they, they are more than willing
17:11 to just give it to that team.
17:12 Um, and that's kind of what happened tonight is NC state is desperate.
17:16 NC state starting to believe that they could, they could, uh, steal a bid.
17:19 Kevin Keats is very much on a hot seat and you know, they, they, they're a desperate
17:23 team.
17:24 Duke's like, yeah, yeah, we'll just kind of coast through this game and I'm sure we'll
17:27 win cause we're better than them.
17:28 And it didn't work out for them.
17:30 Quick break to talk about our friends at visible draining a half court buzzer beater to win
17:33 the game.

18:12 Creighton losing.
18:13 Don't love it, but a Providence, I do like the Providence team.
18:17 I like the Providence story.
18:18 Devin Carter's awesome.
18:20 You know, it's, it's hard not to cheer for Providence with the whole Ed Cooley part and
18:24 all that.
18:25 It, this is the worst part about being on the bubble is like in now I'm in a position where
18:28 like I'm cheering against Indiana state making the tournament I'm cheering against Providence.
18:33 But yeah, Providence, Providence gets a big win.
18:36 They have the winner of the Villanova Marquette game and now all of a sudden Providence is
18:40 in the, we have officially entered.
18:42 Why not us territory for all these teams?
18:45 Not that Providence would be as much of a Cinderella story as NC state or Ohio state,
18:49 but Providence you know, you're playing the winner of Villanova who, by the way, again,
18:56 apply, I'm just providing context.
18:59 I don't know what's going on in this Villanova Marquette game.
19:01 Villanova might've just beat Marquette by 40 and I look like an absolute idiot, but
19:05 that Villanova DePaul game last night, woof.
19:09 In the words of Connor Griffin, woof.
19:13 Holy smokes.
19:14 DePaul is so bad.
19:15 They are so, so bad.
19:17 And yeah, Justin Moore saved Kyle Neptune's job.
19:22 I kind of want Villanova, I think I might've said this on most of the sports, I kind of
19:25 want Villanova to get hot and Kyle Neptune to like go to a few final fours and be the
19:30 coach of Villanova forever.
19:31 Because it would be so funny to look back on that one moment in time when they almost
19:35 blew it against DePaul.
19:36 He would've got fired before, I don't even know if he would've made it to the handshake
19:39 line.
19:40 I think he would've gone to shake DePaul's coach's hand and the AD would've just stepped
19:44 in and be like, not so fast.
19:46 Get your ass out of here.
19:49 And now Villanova is playing a Marquette team that doesn't have Tyler Kolick.
19:52 Again, those of you listening have the luxury of hindsight and you know what happened in
19:56 that game.
19:57 I don't.
19:58 I don't know if you're Providence, you're playing the winner of either a Villanova team
20:01 that yes is on the bubble and is just as desperate as you are, but also, you know, not playing
20:06 good basketball really right now.
20:08 Or a Marquette team.
20:09 It seems like Kolick's going to be out for the entire Big East tournament.
20:11 So Providence is suddenly in a good spot and then you get to the championship and anything
20:15 can happen.
20:16 So yeah, congrats to Providence on the win.
20:19 Although it's, it's, I don't, I don't love it personally, but I'm trying to do my best
20:24 to be unbiased here.
20:26 Other, other conference tournament stuff going on.
20:29 Kansas got blown out by Cincinnati.
20:31 No McColder, no Hunter Dickinson.
20:34 So that's not exactly a shock when you don't have your two All-Americans and you're already
20:38 a team that's not particularly deep.
20:40 You know, we shouldn't be surprised by that, but it's the first time, I think the stat
20:44 I saw was 30 years.
20:46 I think this is the first time in 30 years that Kansas has lost back-to-back games by
20:50 20.
20:52 They get blown out at Houston to end the regular season.
20:54 They lose that game by 30.
20:55 They lose by 20 to Cincinnati.
20:59 Kansas is kind of, I wouldn't even say kind of, I think in totality of the season, Kansas
21:06 is the most intriguing team in college basketball.
21:09 The reason we're not talking about them as the most intriguing team is I think we as
21:12 a college basketball community have kind of already come to a conclusion that they stink
21:16 and that they're going to get bounced early in NCAA tournament.
21:18 But it is kind of hilarious that this is the worst, this is the worst Kansas team Bill
21:24 Self has ever had.
21:25 This team is not a good team.
21:28 Kansas fans are like having an identity crisis.
21:31 They're like, this is, I can't watch this shit.
21:32 What the hell is this?
21:33 We have no depth.
21:35 Even if we did have depth, like the guys aren't even that talented.
21:39 Like we can't, the offense is clunked, the pieces don't really fit.
21:42 I don't know what the hell this team even is right now.
21:45 And you look up and all the projections say Kansas is probably going to be like a four
21:48 seed in NCAA tournament.
21:49 How about that for being spoiled?
21:52 That and is there any?
21:53 Crazy.
21:54 I mean, I think like, I think we've talked about this last year with like Michigan state
21:57 in the way that they sort of maybe bow out of the big 10 tournament early to focus on
22:02 the big one.
22:03 Is that, is there any legs to that sort of thing happening?
22:05 Could be.
22:06 Yeah, there could be.
22:07 Cause Kansas has no depth and, and that is a fear.
22:09 Like even, even in the middle of the season you're, you're worried about how much gas
22:15 these guys are going to have in the tank at the end of the season.
22:17 So yeah, maybe, maybe they are a team that needs rest, get guys healthy and hit the NCAA
22:21 tournament with a full bill of health.
22:23 But it's so fascinating cause as much as you want to look at like the last, I don't know
22:28 when, I don't know when you, when you cut the line off, but like say they beat, so they
22:33 beat Houston to start February, February 3rd, they beat Houston in Allen field house and
22:39 they beat him pretty convincingly.
22:40 It was, it was, they, they jump out to a massive first half lead and just kind of held them,
22:44 held them at bay the rest of the game.
22:46 They turn around and lose to Kansas state at Kansas state.
22:50 Now that was February 5th.
22:52 But since then, so what they were 18 and four, they're four and six in their last 10, they're
22:57 four and six in their last 10.
23:00 Even back then, like when they were beating Houston, you're worried about the wheels falling
23:03 off and them running out of gas.
23:06 And yeah, so maybe this is what they needed.
23:08 Maybe they, maybe they need to cause they, they, yeah, they were, they were 18 and four
23:12 at one point.
23:13 And that, that's fascinating too.
23:14 Cause you, cause losing four of the last 10, if you've been following Kansas's last stretch,
23:19 what have you might think, like, not that they don't deserve a bid, but you're like,
23:22 just get this team out of here.
23:24 Like I don't, I don't need to say, I don't know.
23:26 I only know if they deserve a bid if they don't have McCuller and Dickinson, like, should
23:30 this team even be in the NCAA tournament?
23:31 But then you look back at the, the, the totality of the season, they have beaten Kentucky, they
23:36 have beaten Tennessee, they have beaten Yukon, they have beaten Houston.
23:40 And you're like, I mean, you know, this team is kind of dog shit right now, but also they're
23:46 going to be a four seed because they have an insane run of wins throughout the year.
23:52 It's a fascinating team.
23:53 I will say one other note about Kansas that I find interesting and I do think might mean
24:00 something.
24:01 Kansas, by losing to Cincinnati in the big 12 tournament, Kansas had officially this
24:06 year lost to all four new teams in the big 12.
24:10 Kansas has won.
24:11 I pulled the stat about a month ago and I'm trying to remember it.
24:14 I think it's like 17 and by pull the stat, I mean, I just went to the Wikipedia page
24:18 and scroll through.
24:20 I think they've won like 17 of the last 19 regular season, big 12 championships.
24:25 And you get four new teams that come into the big 12.
24:29 And we all were talking about BYU and UCF and Cincinnati and Houston, how are they going
24:35 to handle taking a step up?
24:37 Now you have to go into Allen Fieldhouse and play the big bad Kansas Jayhawks and the hardest
24:42 home court or the hardest court to win on as a road team.
24:48 Good luck to you.
24:49 Good luck to you stepping into the best conference in college basketball and the mighty Jayhawks
24:54 and all four of them beat Kansas this year.
24:56 That's pretty crazy to me.
24:57 That's pretty crazy that UCF, now UCF was at UCF and Houston was at Houston, Cincinnati
25:02 on a neutral, but BYU did win in Allen Fieldhouse.
25:05 So there you go.
25:06 This is, I think, the most fascinating team because their starting five might be, if their
25:12 starting five is fully healthy, fully rested and ready to rock and roll, they might be
25:17 the best starting five in college basketball.
25:21 Starting four, starting four, no, starting five.
25:23 The starting five might be the best starting five in college basketball.
25:26 They have no depth though, which is an issue.
25:29 And yeah, to have two all American caliber players and have all of those wins that I
25:35 just rattled off and yet to be in a position where Kansas fans are like, this team sucks
25:40 ass and we are going to be lucky to win one game in the NCAA tournament is absolutely
25:43 wild to me.
25:44 And this is the preseason number one team in the country, by the way.
25:47 If I still had my beef with Hunter Dickinson, which I don't, because I'm the better, not
25:52 the better man, we are co-better men.
25:55 We are, we both, it's one A, one B as to who is taking the higher road.
26:00 We're both taking the higher road.
26:01 So, because I have had a lot of people tweet at me that Hunter at the start of the season,
26:06 you might remember, said, I want everyone to remember, I'm glad we're ranked number
26:10 one because I want everyone to know that we're better than them.
26:13 And everyone's like tweeting at me, they're like, Mark, are you going to bring that up?
26:15 Are you ever going to like dunk on Hunter Dickinson and tell him that he was talking
26:18 all that shit and like we're better than everybody at the start of the year?
26:20 The answer is no, I'm not.
26:21 I'm not.
26:22 We have squashed that beef and I wish Hunter well.
26:25 I think Hunter's really done a good job of not being a villain in college basketball
26:28 this year.
26:29 And he's been a lot more humble.
26:30 So for me to like take a cheap shot at this point when he's shown that he's above that,
26:36 it just wouldn't be fair.
26:39 So I disavow all that whole line of thinking and I want no part of it.
26:44 So I wish he was more of a villain.
26:48 I do too.
26:49 I think it would have helped Kansas.
26:50 I miss him.
26:51 I miss him.
26:52 I do miss him.
26:53 I really do.
26:54 Michigan misses him.
26:55 I think that he could have been like, if him and imagine if him, if he was the villain
26:58 he was last year and they played Duke in some scenario.
27:00 Dude, it'd be incredible.
27:02 And I want to go through, I'm too lazy to do it.
27:05 Why am I so lazy?
27:06 Damn it.
27:07 I wish I was younger and I had more energy.
27:11 I want to go through and figure out like all the transfers, who won and who, I want to
27:17 do the winners and losers of all the transfers after this season.
27:20 I might still do that.
27:22 Like Caleb Love transferring was a win for both parties.
27:27 North Carolina is better.
27:28 Caleb loves better for it.
27:29 Hunter Dickinson transferring Kansas stinks.
27:32 Michigan stinks.
27:33 Like it's just like everybody loses.
27:37 Not that the reason Kansas sucks is because of Hunter Dickinson, but it's just like fascinating
27:41 that that's the, I wonder if anybody is, that's gotta be a nerd stat somewhere.
27:47 Like when, like a wins above replacement, but in transfer transfer terms, Evan Miyakawa
27:51 has got to have that like a plus minus on transfer.
27:54 Like for each, like, cause Rutgers got fucked.
27:58 Well how's like Paul Mulcahy, like Washington stinks.
28:01 Are they still in the Pac-12?
28:02 I don't know.
28:03 I just, I still follow him on Instagram.
28:04 I just see like videos of them doing alley-oops.
28:06 I don't know if they're good or not.
28:07 I think they're kind of sort of on the bubble, but I don't know, even know what's going on
28:10 in the Pac-12 tournament.
28:11 Cause we don't have the right refrigerator that shows Pac-12 network.
28:16 It's all been on.
28:17 Yeah.
28:18 They lost to USC.
28:19 So they're out there.
28:20 They're yeah.
28:21 There's 17 and 15.
28:22 Yeah.
28:23 I mean, I don't know.
28:24 I mean, I don't know what's going on with the transfers.
28:25 Paul Mulcahy transfers and Rutgers sucks and he sucks.
28:27 Yeah.
28:28 I want to, I want to make tallies cause like Caleb Love is Caleb Love is the one.
28:33 I mean, that's like, that's crazy that he left North Carolina.
28:36 They got better.
28:37 He got better.
28:38 Arizona's role, Arizona would be the fuck out of USC today, by the way, that kind of
28:40 went under the radar.
28:41 They lost to USC to in the regular season.
28:43 And then they, um, USC was a trendy pick around these parts to win the Pac-12 tournament.
28:49 And then I didn't hear a peep from anybody about USC today.
28:52 And now I know why it's because Arizona, uh, enacted revenge in a big way.
28:58 This episode of the Mark Titus show is brought to you by sport clips.
29:00 Your hair may grow fast, but after going to sport clips, haircuts, you'll wish it grew
29:03 even faster.
29:04 That's because sport clips has the best seats in hair.
29:06 And that may or may not be because they happen to be right in front of the TVs playing sports
29:09 all day, every day.
29:11 We know that watching sports while getting a haircut sure beats watching your reflection
29:15 while getting a haircut, which is why at sport clips every day is clippers and curve balls,
29:19 high tops and hail Marys, and even waves and wickets.
29:22 If you're into those sorts of things at sports clip at sport clips, you can check in with
29:27 the pros and men's hair and totally check out with pure uninterrupted relaxation.
29:31 So yeah, come watch an endless stream of sports on TV while getting an awesome haircut.
29:35 There is basketball lawn seemingly every second of the day.
29:38 If you are someone who is due for a haircut, but you're also a diehard basketball fan and
29:42 you don't know which one to pick.
29:44 Great news.
29:45 You can pick both.
29:46 You can go to sport clips, watch your basketball, get your haircut, sport clips.
29:49 It's a game changer.
29:50 All right.
29:51 I want to talk about coaching carousel a little bit and then we'll get out of here because
29:53 like I said, there's kind of no point in talking about all these games that are going to be
29:59 irrelevant for most of the people listening.
30:01 Anyway, coaching carousel segment brought to you by visible.

30:35 So the big news in the coaching carousel world today is Chris Holman to DePaul.
30:39 Chris Holman is a guy I know well, was the head coach at Ohio state a month ago, is no
30:44 longer the head coach at Ohio state, I think Andy Katz pointed this out on the Buckeye
30:48 broadcast tonight that this is an unusual thing to have a guy fired midseason and then
30:56 get another job when his team that he was originally coaching is still playing and is
31:02 still technically, technically as of right this second, as of this recording, Ohio state
31:06 is still alive for the national championship and that if we win every game from here on
31:10 out, we will be national champions.
31:12 That is pretty wild.
31:13 I can't remember that ever happening either, but a whole takes the DePaul job.
31:17 And I love it for him.
31:19 I love it for DePaul.
31:20 I think it makes, I don't want to say a lot of sense because DePaul is by far the worst
31:24 power as bad as Louisville is.
31:26 And we could talk about Louisville here in a second too.
31:29 As bad as Louisville has been lately, Louisville is not a bad, Louisville is not a bad job
31:33 and Louisville is not a bad program.
31:34 Louisville is just going through it right now, but Louisville figured out DePaul.
31:38 I'm not sure what the light at the end of the tunnel looks like.
31:41 I'm not sure how they fix the problems they have other than as I talk about the Paul a
31:48 lot on the show for how bad they are.
31:51 But it's, it just remains like a, an enigma, like why, why a biggie school in Chicago can't
31:57 just be competitive, just be competitive.
31:59 That's all we're asking.
32:00 And they finally are competitive against Villanova the other night.
32:03 And then they still find a way to beat DePaul on the final possession.
32:08 I don't know what the light at the end of the tunnel looks like, but Chris Holtman at
32:11 the very least is not going to do any worse than DePaul has been in the last few years.
32:16 So there's, there's at least that, but I do, I am one of the rare Ohio state people that
32:22 does still believe Chris Holtman is a good coach.
32:25 And that's not to say, I think he should not, that I don't think he should have been fired
32:29 from Ohio state or that, you know, he was treated unfair.
32:32 I'm not, I'm not saying any of that.
32:34 Like all of that was fine.
32:35 And I'm obviously at the way it's gone since.
32:37 I'm very much okay with what transpired there.
32:39 I just don't think the way the last couple of years went for him at Ohio state is necessarily
32:46 indicative of who he is as a coach.
32:50 And I do think that like, I, I, I stand by, I think oral Roberts kind of fucked him in
32:55 the head and he kind of never recovered from that.
32:57 And I think the change of scenery is going to do him wonders.
32:59 Now the question is, can you win at the Paul?
33:02 It doesn't seem like you can, but from what people are saying, and I don't even know who
33:06 those people are, but I just keep seeing this and hearing this, the Paul seems to be serious
33:12 about trying to field a competitive basketball team, which is to say they are going after
33:17 Chris Holtman who, you know, for, for Buckeyes and for a lot of people, it's like, Oh, he's
33:23 not, he's not really that good of a coach for DePaul.
33:26 That's a, that's a big time higher in terms of like, I know Porter Moser was last time
33:30 we did a show, Cody incorrectly said Porter Moser was going to get the job.
33:34 Good job, Cody on, on that scoop.
33:36 That was awesome.
33:37 And then Porter Moser, like the second we walked out of the studio, tweeted, no, I'm
33:41 not, I don't want that job at all.
33:43 I don't know who DePaul realistically was going to hire.
33:46 It was going to be, they could, they could have hired a good, like the DePaul move would
33:51 have been to hire no name that nobody's that's never really had any success and they don't
33:55 want to spend money, whatever.
33:56 And I think hiring Chris Holtman without knowing the terms of his con, I know it was six years,
34:00 but I don't know how much money they're paying or whatever, but to hire a guy like Chris
34:03 Holtman, who's won coach of the year awards and has, you know, one, one, he's won a lot
34:09 of games.
34:10 He's won a lot of games as a head basketball coach and his, his coach in the biggies before
34:13 and all that.
34:14 It tells me that they're a little bit serious about fielding again, a competitive basketball
34:19 program.
34:20 I'm not saying that the DePaul will ever in my lifetime ever again, seriously compete
34:24 for biggies championships.
34:26 That's not what I think the expectations should be.
34:28 I don't think Chris Holtman is going to do that at DePaul.
34:32 That's very much unrealistic, but the Paul won three basketball games this year.
34:35 They were very much not competitive.
34:38 They got, they did not only lose every biggies game they played in.
34:41 They got blown out of basically every single one except the Georgetown ones.
34:45 It's just a, it's just a completely rock bottom program.
34:48 And I think Chris Holtman for a program in that state, I think Chris Holtman is very
34:54 much a good hire.
34:55 And it tells me that they might be serious about wanting to invest in NIL, wanting to
34:59 invest in the basketball program.
35:01 The arena is awesome.
35:02 The Chicago recruiting area is all, it doesn't even have to be kids from the city.
35:07 It can be kids from anywhere around Chicago.
35:10 The suburbs of Chicago, I don't know, just like you get the top, you get like the guy
35:16 that's ranked a hundredth in the city of Chicago every year.
35:21 You're probably going to have a team like Chicago is so fucking stacked with talent
35:25 that like I sort of see a light at the end of the tunnel now for DePaul.
35:30 And I'm happy for Holt that he, you know, he's not going to sit around and sulk and
35:34 cry about losing the job at Ohio State.
35:36 But I will, one little thing and not to bring it back to the Buckeyes in this run that we're
35:40 on, but I do think Chris Holtman taking a job at DePaul does negate all the coaching
35:46 he did at Ohio State because how could Chris Holtman be our coach if he's DePaul's coach?
35:51 It doesn't make sense.
35:52 It just doesn't compute.
35:53 Like Chris Holtman is DePaul's coach.
35:55 So how could he have been our coach?
35:59 He wasn't.
36:00 He was a six and one.
36:01 And if you leave Ohio State out of the NCAA tournament, you're leaving a one loss Big
36:04 Ten team out of the NCAA tournament.
36:05 And that's just a fact.
36:06 So I'll just say that about Chris Holtman.
36:08 But yeah, I'm fired up.
36:09 And hopefully, hopefully we get him around here.
36:11 I want to, I like Holt.
36:14 You know, I think he's a great dude.
36:16 I do think he's a good basketball coach.
36:18 You watch him conduct practices.
36:19 He's a player's coach.
36:21 I think he knows the game.
36:22 I think he's a good scout.
36:24 Like I think he can draw up plays.
36:25 Like some of the criticisms of him were off base.
36:28 And I think like people don't really fully understand what was wrong.
36:31 But having said all that, I do think we should have fired him.
36:34 And I do think I would have, I guess I was wrong on that, by the way.
36:39 I thought firing him in the middle of the season was stupid.
36:41 And we shouldn't have done that.
36:43 Because like, what's the difference?
36:44 It's not like we're gonna get red fucking hot and make the NCAA tournament, huh?
36:49 Who saw that coming?
36:50 But yeah, I was fine with the decision.
36:53 But I don't think I don't think Chris Holtman's damaged goods.
36:55 And I don't think I don't think we've seen the last of him in terms of coaching a relevant
37:01 basketball team.
37:02 And I do think that he can get DePaul to relevancy, which doesn't mean Big East championships.
37:07 It doesn't mean, you know, going deep into a Big East tournament, making NCAA tournaments,
37:11 all that.
37:12 It just means that like, if UConn is ranked third in the country, and they come to play
37:15 DePaul, that DePaul fans instead of going, ah, fuck, we're gonna lose by 50.
37:19 They go, oh, well, this is awesome.
37:21 We got to go to this game.
37:22 We might have a chance of witnessing history.
37:23 We might be able to pull off the upset.
37:25 We got to cheer for our boys.
37:26 Get behind him.
37:27 Get some juice going.
37:28 I think he can get DePaul to that level where they bring the juice, they bring the excitement,
37:32 and then they still lose by like 15 to UConn.
37:34 But you know, at least there was juice.

38:46 Other coaching carousel stuff, Kenny Payne finally fired.
38:49 Congratulations to Louisville fans.
38:51 The misery is over.
38:53 Kenny Payne on his way out after losing to NC State, right?
38:57 I think they lost to NC State in the ACC tournament.
39:01 Says that he kept track of who was jumping on and off the Titanic.
39:05 Great analogy for Kenny to use on his way out the door.
39:09 Seemingly unaware of what the fate of those who stayed on the Titanic was, which is they
39:14 all died.
39:15 Spoiler alert.
39:18 I have seen that film and everybody dies.
39:21 But yeah, Kenny Payne in his press conference was like, I remember who jumped on and off
39:25 the Titanic.
39:26 I was like, all right, Kenny, please pack up your shit and get the fuck out of here,
39:30 dude.
39:31 So Louisville has jumped ahead of Ohio State to the front of the line in terms of the best
39:38 programs available.
39:39 I guess they get the first crack at who they're going to hire.
39:44 This coaching carousel is shaping up to be an awesome one.
39:48 We got West Virginia still open.
39:49 People forget about West Virginia.
39:50 Bob Huggins fired at the start of the year.
39:52 They've been rolling with an interim coach who has very much not earned the job.
39:56 So they will be hiring a coach pretty soon.
39:59 Ohio State, obviously, we're going to hire a coach very soon.
40:01 Jake Diebler might be in the mix.
40:04 Jake Diebler might just hire himself at this point.
40:06 But Ohio State, I don't think Diebler still has work to do for him to actually be a serious
40:13 candidate.
40:15 If he ends up being the guy, I would love that.
40:16 I love Jake so much.
40:19 I played with John, his brother.
40:20 I've known the Dieblers for over half my life now.
40:22 Jake is just like, he's so fucking awesome.
40:25 And he's a very, very good coach.
40:27 And he's proving it right now.
40:28 And if he's the Ohio State coach, I would be ecstatic.
40:30 I just realistically don't think that they're actually taking him seriously unless this
40:35 run continues.
40:36 Oklahoma State just fired Mike Boynton, by the way.
40:39 I still think Oklahoma State's a great program.
40:41 I remember the days when you'd turn on the TV and Gallagher Aiba was packed.
40:45 Those days seem to be long gone.
40:47 Can he get it back?
40:49 Can the next guy get it back?
40:50 I think so.
40:51 I think Oklahoma State has a fan base that cares.
40:55 The problem with Oklahoma State, though, someone pointed out to me, ever since the Thunder came
40:59 along, Oklahoma in general, and I think OU's dealing with this too, which is why Porter
41:03 Moser, like you, Porter Moser's name pops up for like any Midwest job that comes open.
41:08 And I think it's because, not to shit on Oklahoma State and Oklahoma fans, but it does seem
41:12 like the state of Oklahoma has shifted to an NBA mindset.
41:16 And it seems like the fan base might not.
41:18 But I think Oklahoma State is like one of those programs that, Oklahoma is too, they
41:22 both should be, but I think Oklahoma State is a program, you get the right guy in there.
41:27 They still matter to me.
41:28 Vanderbilt fired Jerry Stackhouse as well.
41:31 So that's a job that's open.
41:33 Jerry Stackhouse was kind of in the mix for the Carolina job after Roy Williams, if I
41:38 remember.
41:39 I don't know how serious they were about that, but it felt like he might be the guy at Carolina.
41:42 Now he's out of Vanderbilt.
41:43 So this stuff is always very fascinating with these coaches.
41:47 Mike Hopkins is another guy.
41:48 I don't know if we talked about him, but I think he was fired since we last did a show
41:51 from Washington.
41:54 He was the coach in waiting at Syracuse, gets impatient, goes out to Washington, and now
41:58 he's without a job.
41:59 So this coaching carousel is going to be really interesting.
42:02 Lamont Paris just signed an extension.
42:05 Greg McDermott, I'm sorry, classic mistake calling him Doug.
42:09 Greg McDermott signed his extension at Creighton.
42:11 He was a guy that was rumored to not have a great relationship with his athletic director
42:15 or the athletic department, whatever.
42:17 He's going to stick around.
42:18 Lamont Paris is seemingly going to stick around at South Carolina.
42:20 He was a name that was getting tossed around.
42:21 I guess it's the Dusty May sweepstakes, the Will Wade sweepstakes.
42:26 We'll see, but I think more jobs are going to open.
42:28 I think Michigan is certainly one that seems like it should.
42:31 Michigan fans are not exactly optimistic that Ward Manuel is going to make that call, but
42:36 maybe they do.
42:37 I think there's going to be a lot more that open up because I think there are guys, Musselman's
42:41 the one, dude.
42:42 Arkansas.
42:43 Arkansas.
42:44 Musselman, there's way too much smoke there.
42:45 I don't know what's going on.
42:46 Arkansas fans are crazy.
42:49 I want to be clear because I have a feeling someone's going to clip this part of the podcast
42:53 and throw it in the forums and they're just going to be, "Titus is saying this and this."
42:57 I don't know shit.
42:58 I want to be very clear.
42:59 I don't know shit.
43:00 This is not me.
43:01 I have to keep saying that because I do dabble in the scoops game, but this is not a scoop.
43:06 There's just a lot of smoke.
43:07 That's all I'm saying.
43:08 I don't mean to say that Eric Musselman wants out of Arkansas.
43:13 Musselman has not, throughout his career, been a guy that sticks around at places a
43:16 long time.
43:17 He is a West Coast guy.
43:20 There are some West Coast jobs opening up.
43:24 He used to coach at Arizona State.
43:26 I've also heard Bobby Hurley and Arizona State are not going to be in bed with each other
43:31 for much longer.
43:32 Washington's, I don't know.
43:35 I love to coach in Carrisol.
43:36 I just hate that it happens during March Madness because it's hard to do both.
43:39 That's all.
43:40 There should be a grace period or something that prevents this.
43:43 For the health of college basketball as a sport, there should be some sort of-
43:46 Yeah, we should do selection Sunday and then between Sunday and Thursday, you can only
43:52 hire on off days.
43:54 You can hire or fire on off days.
43:55 I didn't say a term.
43:56 There should be a league year.
43:57 Yeah, yeah, exactly.
44:00 I did get one DM that said that Eric Musselman's son broke up with his long-term girlfriend.
44:06 Oh, fuck.
44:07 Well, now there we go.
44:08 And he's on staff.
44:09 Well, yeah, then that's done.
44:10 That's all you need.
44:11 Yeah, that's all you need.
44:13 I had the Northern Arkansas scoop before it happened.
44:16 Interesting.
44:17 Yeah, someone sent me the Mike Hopkins scoop a week before it happened and I did nothing
44:23 with it.
44:24 And those are the ones that keep you up at night, TJ.
44:26 Those are the ones.
44:27 I had Steve Offord fired at UCLA before anyone else, too.
44:31 Scoop City, it's a dangerous-
44:32 And I just sat there and I stared at it.
44:34 Excuse me for burping.
44:35 I don't know why I did that.
44:37 And I just sat there and stared at it and I was like, "I don't have the balls to do
44:41 this."
44:42 And then the next morning I woke up and everyone had broken the news that Steve Offord had.
44:44 I was like, "Fuck."
44:46 Sometimes you got to look at the burner account with 50 followers that DMs you and you just
44:51 got to believe.
44:52 Yeah, you just got to stack up and do it.
44:54 I'm one of the ... Jack Mack is a big Scoop City guy.
44:58 He's gotten scoops months before everybody else got.
45:01 He got-
45:02 Oh, yeah.
45:03 He got Shiano back to Ruckers in August.
45:04 It didn't happen until December.
45:05 Scoop City.
45:06 I got a scoop.
45:07 I do have a scoop.
45:08 You know what?
45:09 You've inspired me.
45:10 I'm going to do it.
45:11 I'm going to share a scoop because I had a lot of people in the DMs confirming this.
45:14 I tossed this out as speculation and a lot of people confirmed it.
45:17 Brad Stevens' wife is in fact from Ohio.
45:19 What the fuck?
45:20 There's a scoop.
45:21 There's a scoop.
45:22 Tracy Stevens from Ohio.
45:23 I'm going to get that one.
45:24 Makes you think.
45:25 Makes you think.
45:27 I think that might be it.
45:31 We'll end on that.
45:33 I reserve the right to walk back everything I said about how it's just fun to be on the
45:37 ride and all that sort of stuff if the Buckeyes go down tomorrow.
45:44 But dude, I was done with this team in January.
45:46 I said I was done with the team in January and I want to be clear because ... I don't
45:51 want to be clear actually.
45:53 I take that back.
45:54 I don't want to be clear at all.
45:55 I had given up and it was like the apathy had fully set in.
46:02 I don't really know what my expectations are anymore.
46:04 It just feels so good to know that I will go to bed tonight, wake up tomorrow, and I
46:10 will be nervous throughout the day.
46:11 I will be excited.
46:13 Probably at 1 p.m. I'll say we're going to beat the fuck out of Illinois tonight.
46:16 We're going to run them off the floor.
46:18 And then by 2 p.m. I'm going to be like, "Oh shit.
46:20 We're so screwed.
46:21 Oh my God.
46:22 We're definitely losing."
46:23 And that's what March is all about.
46:27 I just don't know what I'm going to wear tomorrow because I don't want to do the full ... Wearing
46:31 the jersey as it turns out, wearing your full uniform from when you were an athlete, which
46:37 like I was never really much of an athlete to begin with and I never had much of a physique
46:41 to begin with.
46:44 By the way, these fucking shorts never even came close to fitting in the first place.
46:49 But putting your jersey on almost 20 years after you last wore it is ... I realized today
46:54 this is like the male equivalent of a woman putting on a wedding dress that she just found
46:59 in her closet.
47:00 She's like, "I'm going to try my wedding dress on."
47:02 And then she stares in the mirror and she's like, "Oh my God.
47:04 What's happened?"
47:05 That's how I felt this morning getting ready.
47:08 And then throughout the day as the internet was pointing out how small my arms are and
47:12 how I look like I'm dying.
47:14 It was a lot of ricochet shots at Big Cat, which I don't know if you've got that.
47:20 Oh, I didn't even see those.
47:21 It was a lot of like, what happened to Big Cat, skinny Big Cat, why does Big Cat look
47:25 like that?
47:26 I think in the Viva La Stool comments.
47:29 I was getting a lot of Clemmer, a lot of Mantis as well.
47:33 I was getting both of those.
47:34 So you're somewhere on the spectrum between Clemmer and Big Cat.
47:38 Yeah.
47:39 Which is all fair.
47:40 I do have skinny arms and I am out of shape and I don't, but I realized when you wear
47:45 a basketball uniform, the general public is conditioned to seeing guys in basketball uniforms
47:51 who are fucking jacked and ripped and in great shape.
47:53 And then you see a guy who's almost 40 wearing a uniform that never even fit in the first
47:58 place.
47:59 It was a horrendous look.
48:00 So I got to figure out if I have the balls to do it again tomorrow.
48:03 Time will tell.
48:04 In the meantime, thank you to everybody watching, listening.
48:06 Plug in a few upcoming things.
48:09 Are we doing a live Sunday?
48:10 Yep.
48:11 Everything's Sunday live.
48:12 Okay.
48:13 So Sunday, Jake Marsh is coming on the show like he did last year.
48:15 I really, it was, it was really, really fun episode.
48:18 I had a blast doing it with Jake.
48:20 We are just going to fill out our brackets.
48:21 That's going to be the entire show.
48:22 We're going to do that live on.
48:25 You can watch along.
48:26 However you're watching this right now, you can watch live.
48:29 If you're a podcast listener, we'll put it in the podcast feed, obviously.
48:33 And yeah, Jake, Jake will join me and we're just going to fill out our brackets.
48:36 We're doing Sunday, Jake, Brandon and I are doing the, the bracket reveal show.
48:42 So yeah, look for that.
48:44 And then Jake and I are going to go live a little bit after that show to just fill out
48:48 our brackets.
48:50 I don't, I, I thought I had a strategy and then I watched, cause I thought I was putting
48:53 Creighton in my final four and then I watched him tonight.
48:55 Now I don't know what to do.
48:57 So now I'm thinking maybe I just, I just, I, now I'm thinking I'm break, I just break
49:01 the glass on old reliable and have Kentucky win it all.
49:03 I mean, that's like when in doubt and I don't know what to do.
49:06 I pick Duke or Kentucky to win it all.
49:09 And Duke sucks right now.
49:10 So I might just pick Kentucky to win it all.
49:12 I don't know.
49:13 I'm still working through what my process will be.
49:15 So yeah, we're going to do that on Sunday.
49:16 And then the rest of the scheduling throughout March Madness will be, we will be going live
49:21 every night after games with the exception of the first four.
49:24 So on Monday, Tuesday, we'll do selection Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, no shows
49:30 Thursday night, we'll go live Friday night, we'll go live Saturday night, we'll go live
49:33 Sunday night, we'll go live again.
49:35 If you're a podcast listener, we'll put those up as soon as possible.
49:38 And I may, I'm hoping there, you know, like 30 minutes, maybe a little longer, just quick
49:42 recaps of the day.
49:43 So and we'll do that throughout the NCAA tournament.
49:46 So you have that to look forward to please, please, please.
49:49 However, you're consuming this content.
49:51 If you could subscribe it, it might not seem like much.
49:54 It might not seem like it makes a big difference.
49:56 It does for us.
49:57 This is a big month for us.
49:59 And yeah, if you're someone who's just you only care about this show in March, I understand
50:03 completely.
50:05 That's fine by me.
50:06 I just all I ask is maybe just just one little subscribe.
50:09 Just just hit subscribe one time for me, please.
50:12 All right.
50:13 See you guys Sunday night when I'm filling out a bracket.
50:16 God, this is it.
50:17 I'm saying goodbye to everybody.
50:18 And I don't know what I don't know what my fate is.
50:21 I'm hoping Ohio State's in the bracket.
50:23 We'll see.
50:24 I don't know.
50:25 But if you can see my face on this on this program, I will know my fate and I will know
50:31 whether the Buckeyes are in.
50:33 That's crazy.
50:34 We'll see.
50:35 See you guys then.
50:35 (whooshing)
