00:00 In Turkey, the third Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which was attended by almost 5,000 representatives
00:06 from 148 countries, concluded.
00:11 The third edition of the annual event was held under the theme "Highlighting Diplomacy
00:15 in Times of Crisis".
00:16 During the event, more than 20 heads of state and government from some 100 countries participated
00:22 in meetings and diplomatic exchanges.
00:24 In the sense, topics such as global crisis, climate change, immigration, anti-Islamism,
00:31 trade wars and artificial intelligence were discussed.
00:34 The talks were attended by students, academics, non-governmental organizations and representatives
00:40 of the business world.
00:46 The Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey dedicated a session to climate change.
00:51 Foreign ministers from Gambia and Madagascar and the Turkish deputy foreign minister discussed
00:56 the challenges faced by humanity.

01:10 That was the topic of the session.
01:12 Moderator Andrea Hanke recalled that the United Nations Secretary General already used the
01:16 expression "climate boiling".
01:18 Madagascar's foreign minister Rafara Baviratka Rosada warned that her country hosts 5% of
01:24 global biodiversity.
01:26 She explained that Madagascar had adopted the climate plan in 2021, but still faced
01:31 the problem of deforestation.
01:33 According to Rosada, her country was seeking to achieve two goals at once, adapting to
01:38 climate change and overcoming poverty.
01:41 The minister called for strengthening cooperation in financial terms as well as in sharing technology
01:47 and knowledge.
01:49 "South-South cooperation is really critical nowadays, especially because we are facing
01:55 the same issues and the same problems, the same challenges.
01:59 So we need to address these issues with a very, very pragmatic approach.
02:04 We need more partnership and solid partnerships."
02:08 According to Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Busey, sharing new technologies
02:14 constitutes a new form of colonialism, Busey announced that the Turkish parliament was
02:19 preparing a law to adapt to climate change.
02:22 "The Armenian Foreign Minister Mahmudu Tangara criticized international climate conferences
02:28 for only making promises.
02:29 I no longer participate in them," said the foreign minister, who also criticized colonialism
02:35 for having focused agriculture of his country only on exports.
02:39 "We will develop our own policies, give priority to agriculture and become self-sufficient,"
02:44 said the Gambian politician.
02:46 "We need to speak one language, be united in our desire and objective to confront the
02:54 big players, to make them understand that this is not an issue of one country, it's
03:00 a global challenge and climate change has no borders, that don't need a passport to
03:06 Africa, all of us, so we have to fight to pull out."
