00:00 Ladies and gentlemen, we also discussed active case management and judgment management.
00:09 And we agreed, one, the superior courts will enhance the docket management system to streamline
00:16 case management.
00:18 Two, to ensure efficiency to tackle the problem of delays in the conclusion of cases, the
00:26 superior courts will enforce as far as possible the no adjournment policy.
00:33 Litigants and stakeholders in the justice sector are urged to embrace the no adjournment
00:40 policy as adjournments will be granted only in the most exceptional circumstances.
00:50 Number three, we are calling upon our stakeholders in the justice sector, because we do not work
00:58 alone, to support and work with the judiciary in enhancing our efforts towards expeditious
01:06 disposal of disputes.
01:12 The superior court will continue to promote the uptake and use of alternative forms of
01:18 disputes, the solution which is working very well in our court stations.
01:25 The court of appeal will undertake a case audit of appeals and applications where the
01:31 court has granted stay of proceeding orders with a view to fast track the hearing and
01:38 determination of those pending matches.
01:43 The high court will undertake a rapid results initiative, which they have been doing regularly,
01:50 to prepare the records of appeal to enable fast tracking of the criminal appeals at the
01:57 court of appeal.
02:00 The office of the chief registrar of the judiciary will streamline the process of transfer of
02:06 staff with a view to ensuring that each court station is optimally staffed to support judicial
02:14 process including with adequate numbers of court interpreters.
