Mombasa street robbery suspects arrested

Mombasa Sub-County Police Commander Maxwell Agolo on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of two suspects involved in street robberies while riding on a motorbike.

00:00On the 14th day of September 2024, at around 08.30, along the Maria area, we received a report

00:11that an individual who was walking in the street was attacked by three men who were riding on a motorcycle

00:18and they robbed him of his phone and other belongings.

00:23Immediately before they conducted the robbery, they inflicted an injury on his forehead and left hand.

00:31A manhunt was launched and today, acting on a credible intelligence information,

00:38we managed to catch up with them at Utange area within Kisauni.

00:43This is a group which operates in Mombasa but then they ran away in their neighborhood.

00:52The police managed to arrest them and escorted them to Makupa police station

00:57where they are being processed and further police action to follow.

01:03These men are between 17 and 28 years old.

01:09The time when they committed the robbery was around 22 years old.

01:19They come and do the robbery but they leave and go to other counties.

01:25This is a message to say that we are here, we are doing this job with integrity,

01:30don't be suspicious, we will be with you and Tuko,

01:35and we will send a message to say that you are safe there, don't be suspicious even a little bit.
