00:00 Good morning, it's Wednesday and today I am heading off to the Makuah because the Victorian
00:07 Government is doing an inquiry into the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
00:12 So there's been hearings on this since October but this week they're going regional.
00:16 So I thought before we start today, we've got a bunch of people coming before the inquiry,
00:21 I just give everybody an update on where our Commonwealth Games projects are at.
00:25 So we have $49.2 million that will be going towards the station upgrades for an overpass
00:32 and better disability access.
00:35 There's been some preliminary works but we don't have any designs for that project yet.
00:40 Based on the timeline for the Wendaree station upgrade, hopefully there should be some designs
00:46 coming publicly in the next couple of months.
00:50 Then we have $150 million and that's going to go towards a new athletics track at the
00:57 showground site, upgrades to seats at Marth Stadium, some other smaller upgrades at Selkirk
01:02 Stadium and a new facility in Miners Rest.
01:07 That was what we found out in October 2022.
01:10 We basically have no other details on those projects up until then.
01:14 So we're still waiting to see designs, what's going to be involved in the new athletics
01:18 track and we do know that that showground site where the market used to be won't be
01:24 handed over to the state government until June this year.
01:29 So there hasn't been too much movement but we'll see what else we hear today.
