(Adnkronos) - Al Sigep di Rimini l'Unione Italiana Olio di Palma Sostenibile presenta una campagna di informazione contro le fake news nata da un briefing elaborato da un advisory group composto da diversi componenti del comitato tecnico scientifico dell’Unione e alcune ONG e coordinato da EngageMinds Hub (Emh), Centro di Ricerca di Psicologia dei Consumi dell’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Emh ha poi sottoposto una selezione di contenuti a dei focus group di consumatori per misurarne e migliorarne l’efficacia e mettere a punto le raccomandazioni finali. Il progetto è sostenuto anche da Amici della Terra, Orangutan Land Trust, Rspo e Solidaridad. Sin dalle prime fasi è stata coinvolta anche Cittadinanzattiva, in qualità di osservatore e per raccoglierne le raccomandazioni.

00:32 organized a meeting to discuss the technological, safety and sustainability aspects of palm oil.

00:42 not only in terms of the regulation of the European forestry,
00:49 not only to talk about the Respio certification system and the certification flow,
00:57 but also to talk about all the qualitative and technological characteristics of sustainable palm oil,

01:12 The value of palm oil in the total production of vegetable oils is 36% compared to 9% of the occupied surface.
01:20 It is estimated that 76 million tons are used in the world per year, of which 1,236,000 are in Italy.

02:22 by some large groups that thought of attacking market spaces using other oil oils,
02:29 and above all highlighting the label that the product was without palm oil.
02:34 We are against this type of claim, we are in favor of positive claims,

02:40 we say "with the alternative that you have chosen to use".
02:43 This is a wrong message to the consumer,
02:46 we must say this and repeat it in all offices.
02:48 After the crisis in Ukraine, the main oil supplier around the world,
02:53 many companies struggled to find raw material,
02:56 so they turned to palm oil again.
02:59 The discussion on the use of this vegetable oil has therefore returned to the present.
