00:00 I'm a gym rat.
00:02 CrossFit or...
00:04 Name it.
00:05 Specifically.
00:06 If I'm not at Equinox, I'm a crutch.
00:08 Where's the party?
00:13 The party tonight, the after party tonight is...
00:16 What is your room number?
00:17 There's a place called Oomlats.
00:19 That we're all going to.
00:20 Cool.
00:21 Oomlats.
00:22 Yeah.
00:23 Lots of people will be there.
00:24 Yeah, absolutely.
00:25 Is that a sweet alley, Park City?
00:27 I can't tell where it is.
00:29 The location, I just know that's the name of the party.
00:31 Oomlats, probably.
00:32 Yeah.
00:33 They ask how many people are going to show up and they just go, "Oomlats."
00:36 The password is Nikki Haley.
00:38 That's so good.
00:41 I'm sitting up here and I feel like I'm observing the whole scene.
00:44 I'm just like...
00:45 What's the angle on the story of reality that you're telling?
00:49 Well, funny person in a serious situation is my favorite genre of thing to read and consume and make.
00:56 And this is the story of an incredibly funny, witty person who was in a horrifically intense situation.
01:03 And so, all of these projects about her show a different star in the constellation of her life.
01:10 And our movie sort of shows the coming of age story that came before that, the context that led to that,
01:17 which involved her being really a funny, irreverent, quintessentially millennial person with lots of contradictions,
01:23 who loved guns and dogs and her family, but she was always kind of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
01:27 So, it's really taking that person and tracking her life story up until she did this thing that everyone knows her for,
01:34 and then the aftermath of that to a lesser degree.
01:37 But it's a coming of age dramedy about her family and her love life and all the other things that make her who she is.
01:43 I'm curious if any of you guys have overlapping interests or quirks with any of realities.
01:51 I'm a gym rat.
01:53 CrossFit or...
01:55 Name it.
01:56 Specifically.
01:57 If I'm not at Equinox, I'm at Crunch.
01:59 What about New York Sports Club or that's...
02:02 Those were the comparisons that I could talk about.
02:06 It's a hard question.
02:09 Yeah.
02:10 Like realities of comedy art, you know?
02:12 So, in a way, like her references, like culturally, are like really have a lot of overlap with things that she thinks are funny
02:19 are usually things that, you know, the shows she watches or the shows we all watch.
02:23 Yeah.
02:24 She's kind of like more plugged into the culture that you wouldn't necessarily like associate her with
02:29 given how intensely political she is, you know?
02:33 Yeah.
02:34 She's also kind of British in her sense of humor.
02:37 She's like very, very sarcastic.
02:38 So, yeah, I definitely share that with reality.
02:41 Do you guys have any interests or things like that that we might be surprised to learn about you that people might not know?
02:48 Brittany is a scientist and a chemist, and I took a physics class at UCLA recently.
02:54 So, we're kind of nerds.
02:55 How'd you do?
02:58 I got an A, obviously got an A.
03:00 I was a nerd in school.
03:02 Okay.
03:03 I was pretty good in school.
03:04 I wasn't going to be a scientist.
03:06 Maybe.
03:07 Maybe in another version of my life, but I think just that.
03:12 I like science.
03:13 I liked...
03:14 I heard she has a great podcast, and I listen to it every day, and I learned a lot.
03:17 So, I nerded out a little bit.
03:19 Zach, if you were to bring reality onto Between Two Ferns, what would you want to ask?
03:27 Why are you here?
03:29 I wouldn't want to do that to her.
03:34 That's so sweet.
03:35 No, she's...
03:36 I would...
03:37 No, I wouldn't want to put her in that situation.
03:40 She's very funny, though.
03:41 I mean, I got to meet her yesterday.
03:43 You can tell that she has a very sharp wit.
03:46 She would be a good guest on that.
03:49 But, yeah, I don't want to be mean to her.
03:53 I hear that.
03:54 Only Barack Obama, he can...
03:56 Well, he's powerful.
03:57 It's okay to be mean to the powerful.
03:59 That's the whole point.
04:01 Yeah.
04:02 We'll get her a part in, and then she can get knocked out.
04:06 Oh, yeah.
04:07 Yes, yes.
04:08 That's right.
04:09 Yeah, yeah.
04:10 There's a couple other things on the to-do list.
04:11 Yeah, yeah.
04:12 Totally.
04:13 Check those out for us.
04:14 Yeah.
04:15 What's the first thing you do before it takes you?
04:16 I guess learn a Philly accent.
04:18 I have a TV show, and I've got to learn Philly accents.
04:20 That's my goal right now.
04:22 Are you watching anyone for inspiration?
04:25 I'm watching Mare of Easttown.
04:27 Oh, that's good. Okay.
04:28 Yeah.
04:29 And, yeah, I don't know if you have any other suggestions.
04:31 Well, you know what you should do?
04:32 You should Google "Philly cheesesteak local commercials,"
04:37 because they used to have them in Philadelphia.
04:39 And you will hear the most authentic...
04:42 If you just look up "local Philadelphia commercials,"
04:45 that's where you'll hear it.
04:46 That's good.
04:47 If you need me after this, that's what I'll be doing.
04:49 Okay.
04:50 Yeah, that's what she says.
04:52 I teach an acting class at the Learning Annex,
04:55 if anyone's interested.
04:57 What is a classic movie that you have pretended to have seen?
05:03 I can promise you if anyone here answers,
05:05 I will not make you watch that movie with me.
05:07 Okay, great.
05:08 Titanic.
05:09 I've never seen it.
05:10 Whoa!
05:11 That's an incredible--
05:12 And now you guys are going to be like,
05:13 "Let's come to my house. We're going to watch it."
05:14 That's what happens next.
05:15 Whoa!
05:16 That's kind of crazy.
05:17 Never seen it.
05:18 Is there a specific reason?
05:19 And now I know all the references.
05:20 I've never seen Star Wars.
05:22 Wow, the Simons?
05:23 Yeah.
05:24 What?
05:25 No one's upset about that, the way they were.
05:27 Any of the Star Warses?
05:28 No, none.
05:29 None of them.
05:30 Apart from the clip that we played in CapEx.
05:32 Right, yes.
05:33 Other than that--
05:34 You played a person who was bored by a movie
05:35 that you actually never seen.
05:36 Zack, anything?
05:38 He's seen it all.
05:39 He's an acting teacher.
05:40 I've never seen The Animal House.
05:43 I mean, I think you're supposed to see that movie
05:46 if you're a comedian, but I've never seen it.
05:49 Or the Hangover movies.
05:52 You didn't watch any of those?
05:54 They're really funny.
05:55 I love those movies.
05:56 I'll be the judge of that.
05:57 [laughing]
05:58 - I'm just gonna say it. - I'm sorry.
