Family and friends on Friday (Jan 19) paid their final respects to Ecuadorean prosecutor Cesar Suarez, who was shot dead on Wednesday (Jan 17) in Guayaquil.

Prosecutor Suarez was travelling to a court hearing when he was killed in Guayaquil.

He was in charge of prosecuting organised crime cases in the province of Guayas, one of the country’s most violent areas and the site of an on-air attack on a television station last week.
