00:00 Hello, I am here with Charlie who is a digital reporter at Bristol World and
00:06 we're going to be discussing the top five news stories in the city this week.
00:10 So Charlie, can you tell us what is the top news story in Bristol this week?
00:16 So our top story this week is that the reopening of We the Curious has been
00:21 delayed again. So bosses say they are disappointed that they are unable to
00:27 open the Science Centre. Thank you Charlie. So shall we move on to our
00:32 second top story in the week? Tell me a little bit about that.
00:38 So our second top story is that roadworks are due to start in March on a
00:44 major city centre road in a year-long project to upgrade pavements and cycling
00:49 lanes. So Park Row and three other streets will be made safer and more
00:54 pleasant. So temporary bike lanes were installed along the road during the
00:59 Covid-19 pandemic using plastic bollards and the council plans on upgrading
01:04 these bike lanes as well as pedestrian crossings and traffic signals and
01:08 creating loading bays and disabled parking bays too.
01:11 Thank you Charlie. So shall we move on to our third top story this week? Tell me a
01:19 little bit about that story. So our third top story this week is that a new
01:24 immersive prison cocktail experience is coming to Bristol. It's called Alcotraz
01:30 and it's been dubbed the notorious bar behind bars and that will be opening on
01:35 All Saints Street on January the 26th and the idea for this is that partygoers
01:42 will have to complete tasks, wear orange jumpsuits and enjoy cocktails. That
01:48 sounds really exciting, a nice one for the city for this year then. Shall we
01:53 move on to our fourth top story in the city this week? So our fourth top story
02:00 is that a long-running butcher in Bristol has announced plans to retire. So
02:06 Mike Dalton who runs MJ Butchers on Gloucester Road, he's ran that since 1990.
02:15 Thank You Charlie. So shall we move on to our fifth and final top story in
02:22 Bristol this week? Tell me a little bit about that. So our final story is that a
02:26 new restaurant with a shisha garden has opened in Bristol and that is called
02:32 Clifton Palms just off of St. Paul's Road in Clifton and that's been opened by a
02:38 group of six former school friends including Farooq Sadiq. Yeah I think
02:43 there's lots of different flavours that they do so they provide all the
02:46 equipment for it and they do have a shisha barman as well. Oh well that's an
02:52 exciting one for a small business in Bristol then. So that is everybody up to
02:57 date with our top five news stories in the city this week. Whatever you're up to
03:02 have a great day.
