00:00 Travel won't just be difficult and dangerous tonight in the Northeast.
00:04 The morning commute could also be treacherous in spots.
00:08 AccuWeather chief meteorologist John Porter explains.
00:11 People may not be able to get to work and school as they normally do because of the
00:15 combination of flooded roadways.
00:18 Some of it will be significant and perhaps downed trees blocking the roads as well as
00:22 power lines from all the gusty winds.
00:25 Yeah, that pretty much says it.
00:27 It's not just one hazard, it's many.
00:29 With that, let's take a closer look at tomorrow's travel outlook across the country.
00:33 And if we hone in here on the Northeast, we've got major travel delays for the reasons that
00:38 chief meteorologist John Porter was detailing.
00:40 We're going to have flooded roads.
00:42 We're going to have some coastal flooding issues as well.
00:44 Could be downed trees and power lines.
00:46 So major delays across the coastal Northeast here on your Wednesday.
00:51 Now farther west, the storm is winding down tonight as far as the snow in Chicago, but
00:56 there still could be some snowy roads out there.
00:58 Just be extra careful.
00:59 Minneapolis, you've got a little bit of snow moving through on Wednesday.
01:02 That could give you some problems on the roads.
01:04 The airport will probably be OK there.
01:06 Some windy conditions though across the Rocky Mountains here.
01:10 Denver's got some wind in the forecast, gusts over 30.
01:12 Could be some delays there.
01:14 And it will be a very stormy week here continuing across the Northwest.
01:18 Heavy snow in the mountains, the pass is having problems.
01:21 So driving out of Seattle, out of Portland through the Washington and Oregon Cascade
01:26 Pass is going to be a big problem for us.
01:28 Now look at the AccuWeather US flight cancellation forecast for the next five days.
01:32 500 is nothing to sneeze at for Wednesday.
01:35 There's still going to be some issues.
01:36 But look what happens on Friday.
01:38 We have another spike where if you're traveling on Friday across the country, we are expecting
01:42 hundreds of airline cancellations for flights.
01:46 And here's why.
01:48 Look at the forecast for Friday here, folks, across the eastern half of the nation especially.
01:52 We've got an Arctic plunge with another strengthening storm, another round of severe weather into
01:57 Friday across the southeast in some of the same areas that got it earlier this week and
02:01 tonight.
02:02 And also another round of flooding downpours into Friday across those big airports in the
02:06 northeast.
02:07 So that's not good here, folks.
