00:00 We are also going to save public money.
00:11 We are spending billions of shillings sustaining companies.
00:17 We have 350 public companies, public entities.
00:28 We are supporting companies that just take money from the budget.
00:32 We are supporting them.
00:34 Billions of shillings.
00:36 Some of them you ask, "What is this one doing?"
00:39 Nobody can tell you what the hell it is doing.
00:42 But we are putting in 100 million, 200 million, 500 million every year.
00:47 So some of those things we are going to make a decision.
00:52 And by the way, very interesting.
00:56 A report was already done.
00:59 A whole report saying these companies, about 150, should be removed.
01:06 What they are doing can be done by the private sector.
01:08 In fact, sell some of these companies to the private sector.
01:11 The private sector will give us more value out of them.
01:17 Yeah?
01:19 Some of them divest.
01:22 But the report has been here now 10 years.
01:28 Because it's a very difficult decision to make.
01:32 But I will make the decision.
01:34 I promise you.
01:37 I will make the decision and take the consequences.
01:41 Because Kenya must move.
01:43 Yes, if we know what the right thing is.
01:47 My friends, you can never go wrong by doing the right thing.
01:50 How can you go wrong by doing the right thing?
01:54 So we are going to make those decisions because --
01:57 and I am talking to you as members of our diaspora --
02:03 because we must change Kenya.
02:06 [end]
