00:00 How does it feel to be here this morning,
00:01 surrounded by so many other powerful women?
00:03 - Oh my God, I love being in the presence
00:05 of powerful women.
00:06 We're everywhere.
00:07 And I'm just so glad that we're getting the recognition
00:09 that everybody deserves.
00:11 So this event means a lot to me personally,
00:13 just because it's time, you know, it's about time.
00:16 So I'm happy to be here.
00:18 - Women in general had a huge year in entertainment in 2023
00:21 and you especially did with so many Grammy nominations.
00:24 I love the video of you finding out
00:26 about those Grammy nominations.
00:27 - Thank you so much.
00:28 It was such an emotional rollercoaster
00:30 and I'm still kind of doing it.
00:31 Every time I see someone for the first time
00:33 since that video, they're like,
00:34 they remind me a little bit, like you, you know,
00:36 saying congratulations.
00:37 So it always feels like another bit of emotion
00:40 and surprise for me.
00:41 So I'm having a great time
00:43 and this year has been so special.
00:45 I know my grandma, she's an angel watching out
00:48 and making all of these things happen.
00:49 She's up there formulating things.
00:51 So I'm just super happy.
00:53 - I love that so much.
00:54 And now that you've had some time
00:55 to let those nominations sink in, you know,
00:57 what do they mean to you?
00:58 How does it feel?
00:59 - Oh my God, it's been a lifelong dream.
01:01 As a little girl and as you wish to do anything,
01:05 you want to be at the top of that craft
01:07 and Grammys is, you know,
01:09 one of the most prestigious awards you can win in music.
01:11 And so to be even considered is just a really crazy dream
01:16 that has come to fruition.
01:18 So I feel like I've already won in a lot of ways.
01:21 - Have you started figuring out your Grammys outfit yet?
01:24 Like, are we in Grammys prep mode yet?
01:26 - Yes, well the first thought was my daughter's outfit
01:29 because she's also Grammy nominated as a two year old.
01:32 So I thought about her and like how she'll react
01:34 on the carpet and like trying to get her ready for this.
01:38 And then now we're onto mommy's outfit.
01:41 So yeah, we're planning already.
01:43 - That's amazing.
01:44 And like I said, we're celebrating women
01:46 in entertainment this morning.
01:47 Another singer songwriter, Adele,
01:49 is receiving a huge honor.
01:50 What's one thing you love about Adele?
01:51 - You know what?
01:52 I really love her ability to be the biggest superstar,
01:56 one of the biggest superstars in the world,
01:57 but also be so personable.
01:58 I feel like I know her even though I haven't met her.
02:01 And I think that's a special ability
02:03 to be able to touch the world,
02:04 but also have the world be able to feel
02:06 like they can touch you.
02:07 So I'm happy that she's getting her flowers today.
02:10 - And you've collaborated with so many amazing female artists
02:13 but who's someone you haven't gotten the chance
02:14 to collaborate with yet that you would love to?
02:17 - Adele.
02:18 (laughs)
02:19 Also another Grammy nominee, SZA.
02:22 I've been kind of trying to manifest this
02:25 but I'm a huge fan of SZA as well
02:26 and I think I would love to collaborate with her in any way.
02:30 - I always see the videos from your concerts
02:32 where you are singing "Stop"
02:33 and you say the things that we're gonna stop doing.
02:35 So I wanna know, what are we gonna stop doing in 2024?
02:38 - Stop self-sabotage.
02:40 You know, I think that some of our biggest enemies
02:43 live in our own heads.
02:44 And so we gotta look in that mirror in the morning
02:46 and be like, you got this, girl.
02:47 And you know, stop whatever fear-based actions
02:51 that would follow that.
02:51 So just live in confidence and trust in yourself, you know?
