00:00 The Complete Rooftop Gaps Challenge in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a bit of a tricky one.
00:15 Which rooftop gaps do you need to clear, and how do you even get up to the rooftops in
00:18 the first place?
00:19 The answers aren't obvious, especially when they involve flinging yourself through buildings
00:23 and windows.
00:24 Luckily, we have all the answers, so follow our guide and you'll be leaping gracefully
00:28 over the rooftop gaps, like the Birdman himself.
00:31 It's worth noting before we start that the rooftop gaps are quite wide, and you're
00:35 not going to clear them unless you can pull off big jumps.
00:37 If you're having issues, you can head to the stats tab of the skater menu and respec
00:41 your character for greater air, hangtime and speed, which should help you make the distance
00:46 while clearing the gaps.
00:48 Remember to release the ollie button as late as possible when you leave the ramp, and if
00:51 you're able to fill your special meter first, that could give you some extra help.
00:56 Where to find the gaps?
00:57 From the start of the level, turn right and then go up the hill and right again, where
01:01 you'll see a truck parked in the corner.
01:03 Ride up its deck and ollie through the window ahead, then follow the corridor around and
01:07 up onto the rooftops.
01:09 Downtown Rooftop Gap 1
01:11 The first gap is on your left as you enter the rooftops by the greenhouse.
01:15 Push the barrier out of the way, and smash a route through the greenhouse windows.
01:19 You'll need to get enough height on your jump to sail through the upper window of the
01:22 building opposite, where you'll land in a lovely room full of toilet rolls.
01:26 There's no time to hang around though, as there's two more gaps to hit, so drop down
01:30 to the street below and head straight back up to the rooftops again via the same route
01:34 as before.
01:36 Downtown Rooftop Gap 2
01:37 There's a bowl straight ahead of you when you arrive on the rooftops, so enter that
01:41 and look for a ramp in the middle to the left side as you go in, which has a large arrow
01:46 painted on it.
01:47 You can use the bowl to fill your special meter and get a decent run up at this ramp,
01:51 and the next rooftop gap.
01:53 You need to clear the big gap and land on the roof of the next building, so make sure
01:56 you're releasing that ollie button at the last second.
01:59 If you're running short on time by this point, you can grind the rails around the
02:03 outside of the bowl ahead to hit the last gap.
02:06 Downtown Rooftop Gap 3
02:08 The third and final rooftop gap is just to the right of where you landed on this rooftop,
02:13 overlooking the plaza below.
02:14 There's a decent distance for a run up, and as we mentioned before you can also grind
02:18 the rails leading to the ramp for an extra push if needed.
02:21 This is the trickiest of the rooftop gaps, as in order for it to register you have to
02:25 make the jump and land in a grind on the rail below, leading down to the plaza.
02:30 Hit the ground instead and the gap won't count, and when time is short it's difficult
02:34 to get back up to the rooftop for another attempt.
02:37 If this jump in particular is causing you issues, but you're confident at completing
02:41 the first one, you can switch the order around to start with the second and third gaps, then
02:45 only go back for the first one if you clear the other two successfully.
02:48 Hit all three in one session, and you can tick the tricky Downtown Rooftop Gaps challenge
02:53 off your list.
02:54 Feel free to give this video a thumbs up if you found it useful - if I had a thumbs up
02:58 for every time I said the word gaps just now, we'd be doing pretty well.
