Coles, Woolworths bosses to front Senate inquiry amid price gouging allegations

The bosses of Coles and Woolworths could be asked to justify their company's reported billion dollar profits amid rising inflation in a senate inquiry spearheaded by the Greens.

00:26 We can discuss that or the Senate can discuss that in its inquiry.

00:31 It's the middle person, what we used to call the middle man, that needs to be looked into.

00:36 Not only retailers but processors, in the case of meat, abattoirs and so on.

00:42 And public inquiries do get into that a bit.

00:45 There are limits on what a Senate inquiry can do.

00:48 It may be that it has to be sent after that to the ACCC to get into it in depth.
