00:00 -Thank you, Admiral.
00:01 So, the US administration has been clear
00:02 that they've asked Israel to be more targeted
00:05 in its military operations in southern Gaza,
00:08 but Israel has vowed to resume this fighting with full force
00:11 when it starts again.
00:12 So, what has the President specifically told Netanyahu,
00:15 and how much daylight is there between what the President wants
00:18 and what Israel wants?
00:20 -So, obviously, we continue to believe
00:22 that Israel has the right and responsibility
00:25 to go after Hamas.
00:27 They have said -- They have spoken for their military
00:30 campaign, and they have said very clearly
00:32 that when these pauses are over, they intend to go back at it.
00:37 And as they make that decision,
00:39 they'll continue to find support from the United States
00:41 in terms of the tools and capabilities,
00:43 the weapon systems that they need,
00:44 as well as the advice and the perspectives
00:45 that we can offer in terms of urban warfare.
00:49 No nation should have to stand for what Israel
00:51 had to experience on the 7th of October.
00:55 So, I won't speak for their operations,
00:56 and I'm certainly not gonna get into private conversations
00:58 that the President has had with the Prime Minister,
01:01 but he has been clear publicly and certainly in his discussions
01:05 with the War Cabinet that they will continue
01:08 to have United States support as they go after these terrorists.
01:11 And again, just look at what happened today in Jerusalem.
01:13 I mean, if anybody's guessing and wondering
01:15 whether Hamas still has murderous intentions
01:17 against the Israeli people,
01:18 just look at what happened in Jerusalem today.
01:20 -You had mentioned before that the U.S.
01:22 believes there are two American women held,
01:25 one has been released.
01:26 So, does that mean there is one American woman left being held?
01:29 And what do we know about her conditions?
01:31 Do you think she could be released soon?
01:33 -I wish I had good answers for those questions.
01:35 Unfortunately, we don't know.
01:37 We do believe that there's --
01:40 that of the unaccounted-for Americans,
01:43 that we believe there's one other woman
01:46 that's unaccounted for and that we had believed
01:51 was taken hostage.
01:52 So, we were hoping to see two women
01:55 and, of course, little Abigail come out over the last week.
01:59 We're certainly grateful that we've now gotten
02:02 six Americans out,
02:04 but I don't have additional information on this individual
02:06 or where she might be or what her condition is.
02:10 I just don't know. -Does the U.S. believe that Hamas
02:13 does not know where all the hostages are,
02:15 or is that just something they're propagating
02:17 the U.S. believes in order to delay this?
02:19 -I can't say with certainty what Hamas knows or doesn't know.
02:22 They launched these attacks on the 7th of October
02:25 with two purposes --
02:27 one to kill, the other to take hostage.
02:29 And they did that to a fairly well.
02:32 We do think that there are some other groups,
02:35 other than Hamas, that might be holding hostages.
02:37 But that's not to say that Hamas doesn't have visibility on that
02:40 or doesn't have a way to find out about it.
02:43 So, the onus is really on Hamas, as this deal progresses today,
02:49 to identify, locate, and secure these hostages
02:52 and get them to the Red Cross so that they can get to safety.
02:55 But I couldn't speak with great certainty
02:57 about exactly what Hamas knows and doesn't know.
