00:00 To be fair, they try and have different stalls, so not many stalls overlap with each other.
00:07 And of course it has to be handcrafted. It has to be you make it yourself, which we do.
00:13 And that I think in itself is unique to Cardiff as well.
00:17 It is a great market. I believe it's over 70 stalls. And like you say, everything is
00:24 different. There's nothing the same here really. And like I said, so many talented people out
00:29 there. And that's what we want, the support of the local customers to keep us little ones
00:34 going really.
00:35 Oh I love it. I love it. Through the year we go down Cardiff Bay, but the Cardiff market
00:42 is a Christmas market. It's absolutely wonderful. You meet lovely people.
00:49 It keeps winning the award for the number one Christmas market. I mean, it's won it
00:53 I think for the last three years. It was in the Sunday Times number one slot this year
00:57 as well for the best UK Christmas market. And you only have to come down here just to
01:02 see why. It's so obvious. You've got the variety, you've got the budget. There's something
01:07 for everybody. And again, 95% of it handmade. 95% of it probably made in Wales as well.
01:14 It's super.
01:15 And that's one of the joys of it. It's like such a great community of like-minded people
01:20 who make their own products. It's not just all sourced in from another country and sold.
01:26 It's people who have put the time and the love and the effort into making their own
01:29 products. So it's really good.
01:31 It's brilliant. And I think the criteria to be on here is stringent. So the standards
01:35 are kept really high. So the organisers are fantastic.
01:38 Yeah, there's no two kind of stalls are the same. You've got a lot of different things.
01:42 No. They're very careful what they put and where they put you. We've been doing this
01:45 for quite a while and it's good.
01:48 I did this market last year and we had a fantastic time. We've been subject to a lot of rain
01:52 this year, unfortunately, up to now. But yeah, overall, really pleased with it. And it's
01:56 just a great, it's a great city. It's a wonderful city and there's loads of people knocking
02:00 about. So yeah, it's lovely to see them all.
02:02 That's what makes Cardiff Market or the Christmas Market unique. Because every stall holder
02:07 is totally different. You won't find two stalls selling the same things.
02:12 I love the Christmas Market. Yeah, it's great camaraderie. You meet lots of interesting
02:16 people and yeah, it's just a fun place to be.
02:21 The artisans here, and I use that word because they are craftspeople, it's superb. And it's
02:26 funny, there's a community as well. And when you, we're not really used to this part of
02:32 it, but everybody else is so friendly. And the number of people who haven't come in here
02:38 as well. We've had people from Somerset, America, the first three people we saw from Jersey
02:44 and Isle of Wight. And so people come to see. And the number of people who've told me, it's
02:50 noted as one of the best Christmas markets in the UK. And they've seen it, I think it
02:54 was in the Times or something like that. So yeah, it is a good market and we've been very
03:00 well supported as well.
