00:00 Greens leader Shane Rattenbury took questions from the media for the first time since revealing
00:05 on Friday that allegations against Jonathan Davis had been brought before his office last

00:11 Mr Davis was elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly in 2020 as the Greens member for
00:16 the southern ACT seat of Brindabella.
00:19 During the media conference, Mr Rattenbury confirmed some of the details of the allegations
00:25 that had been brought before him and defended his decision not to take those concerns to
00:29 police.
00:30 These allegations were first drawn to my attention on Monday.
00:36 We commenced an internal review process.
00:39 We needed to seek to understand better the nature of the allegations.
00:44 My brief to my senior staff was that I wanted that report by Friday.
00:49 I think that's an appropriate time frame.
00:51 It was also revealed that Greens Minister Emma Davidson knew about some of the detail
00:56 of the allegations up to a week before they went to Mr Rattenbury's office.
01:01 The Greens were universally scathing of their coalition partner Labor's response and its
01:06 criticism of their handling of the alleged incidents.
01:09 Frankly I am dismayed by the Deputy Chief Minister's statement last night.
01:14 I think it was highly inappropriate.
01:16 I spoke to the Deputy Chief Minister twice yesterday.
01:20 So for her to then issue a statement last night saying she had questions that had not
01:25 been answered, she had ample opportunity to raise those matters with me yesterday.
01:31 In a statement from lawyers for Mr Davis over the weekend they said it would be inappropriate
01:35 for him to comment while the matters had been referred to police.
01:38 They did say though that his only knowledge of the allegations was what had been published
01:43 within the media.
01:45 Police say they have received the referral but no charges have been laid.
01:48 In the meantime the ACT Government, the Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry says she's been
01:53 in contact with support services to make sure that all involved can access them if needed.
