Transcript
00:00 I'm grateful for the hospital you showed me in Bali,
00:05 and we're delighted to have you here.
00:07 Today, we're talking about taking our relationship
00:20 to launching the highest possible level of cooperation.
00:25 A comprehensive strategic partnership.
00:37 This will mark a new era between the relations
00:44 between the United States and Indonesia,
00:47 across the board, affecting everything.
00:50 It includes enhancing security cooperation,
01:00 particularly maritime security.
01:02 And it includes expanding our work together
01:13 to build a secure, resilient supply chain.
01:16 It includes deepening our collaboration
01:28 to combat the climate crisis.
01:30 You know, I've told you this before,
01:37 but Indonesia is a critical player --
01:40 critical in clean energy transition in the world.
01:43 And we're also going to continue to work with ASEAN
01:55 to advance a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
01:59 And I want to thank you -- and I mean this sincerely --
02:02 I want to thank you for your leadership on ASEAN this year.
02:05 I really do.
02:07 As we mark nearly 75 years of cooperation
02:25 between our nations,
02:27 I'm of the view our partnership is stronger
02:29 than it's ever been and going to even get stronger.
02:31 I'm looking forward to our conversation today
02:42 and to our cooperation with APEC Summit
02:45 in San Francisco later this week.
02:47 As we used to say in the place I worked a long time,
02:59 the United States Senate, I yield the floor to my friend.
03:03 >> It is an honor for me to fulfill the invitation
03:18 from President Biden to visit Washington, D.C.
03:25 The U.S. is one of the most important partners for Indonesia.
03:31 And we agreed to elevate our partnership
03:39 into comprehensive strategic partnership.
03:42 But most importantly, we have to give a real meaning to it.
03:49 For Indonesia, economic cooperation is priority,
03:54 including on supply chain issues.
03:57 Indonesia also wishes our partnership
04:05 contribute to regional and global peace and prosperity.
04:13 So Indonesia appealed to the U.S.
04:20 to do more to stop the atrocities in Gaza.
04:27 This fire is a must for the sake of humanity.
04:35 Once again, thank you for your invitation, President Biden.
04:40 Thank you.
04:41 >> Thank you. And as we met outside,
04:44 as you get out of your automobile,
04:46 we had a very important discussion on climate.
04:50 The President said, "I'm cold."
04:52 (Laughter.)
04:54 >> I told him I could take care of that immediately.
05:09 (Laughter.)
05:10 >> Welcome. Thank you. Thank you.
05:15 >> Thank you all so much.
05:17 (Inaudible.)
05:34 >> Thank you very much.
05:35 >> Thank you.
05:36 >> We're finished now. Thanks.
05:38 >> Thank you.
05:39 >> Let's go this way. Please don't stop.
05:41 >> Thank you.
05:42 >> Thank you.
05:44 >> Appreciate it.
