00:00 A little lad, George, named after Georgie Best.
00:03 He's seven years old and he sits and watches Bobby on YouTube,
00:07 looks at his old games and old goals and things like that,
00:10 and it just shows that his legacy will live on forever,
00:13 and bringing our children up named after our heroes as well.
00:17 I think it's really important that we do that.
00:19 So it's just, you know, rest in peace to Bobby.
00:21 APPLAUSE
00:23 Fans gathered at Old Trafford for the memorial service
00:37 of football legend Sir Bobby Charlton
00:39 on Monday 13th November.
00:41 England's best footballer and Manchester United superstar
00:45 was remembered today with a funeral procession
00:47 that passed the club's stadium
00:49 before arriving at Manchester Cathedral for the ceremony.
00:52 Around 1,000 guests attended the ceremony,
00:55 including leading figures from across the football
00:57 and sporting communities,
00:59 and fans were provided an opportunity to say a final farewell
01:03 to their hero at Old Trafford.
01:05 We caught up with some of the fans before the procession
01:08 to hear what they had to say about the late Sir Bobby Charlton.
01:11 It's definitely what he deserves,
01:12 and it's nice that Manchester have come together.
01:15 We've got friends that are City fans and that,
01:18 and they all got in touch and paid their respects
01:20 when he passed away.
01:21 He is that important to the country.
01:24 You remember what he did for England,
01:26 World Cup winner,
01:27 but for us as Manchester United fans,
01:30 the most important thing is today we pay our respects
01:32 and give him the send-off.
01:34 As Chris said, our thoughts are with his family,
01:36 but the wider United family,
01:38 all our season-ticket-holder friends.
01:41 I used to come down here and watch him play,
01:42 you know, with Best and Dennis.
01:45 He's a great player.
01:48 I don't really know what else you can say.
01:50 It's sad, but that's the way it is.
01:55 I was brought up with Manchester United,
01:57 from my parents and that,
01:59 and I was actually driving to Sheffield United
02:02 for the away game when it was announced.
02:04 I'd just got in the car after the services
02:08 and I burst into tears.
02:09 It was just, "He's Manchester United."
02:12 A legend, someone that, you know, that word's thrown around all the world,
02:16 but he's a true legend and sadly missed.
02:20 It's like there's not too many people you'd actually travel up for,
02:23 but Bobby was just an absolute gentleman,
02:25 a great player, a gentleman.
02:28 For me, he was not only Manchester United's greatest player,
02:30 but I think he was England's.
02:32 And the guy was just a great player on it
02:38 and a gentleman off the field.
02:40 And it's just coming up here just to pay our respects to him.
02:44 It's just going to be a really sad day.
02:45 It's been a sad, sad time for us over the last couple of weeks in particular.
02:50 But I just think again, yeah, those people lining the streets of Manchester,
02:54 it just goes to show what a tremendous man Sir Bobby really was.
02:59 England's finest football player.
03:01 I had the pleasure of watching him play
03:04 and I had the pleasure of meeting him for my 40th birthday
03:09 and having a good chat with him.
03:10 And he was a gentleman then
03:12 and it's a big loss for football around the world.
