00:08 This is a performance Buick.
00:10 That's right, I'll say it again, a performance Buick.
00:13 You're looking at the 255 horsepower, all-wheel drive, Buick Regal GS.
00:19 Now at the moment, the GS is only a concept car.
00:22 It's a hotter version of the forthcoming Buick Regal, which of course is based on Opel's
00:27 insignia.
00:29 But there is no reason, says GM President Mark Royce, why GM would not build this car
00:34 and put it into production.
00:36 So to recap, under the hood is a two-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing
00:42 255 horsepower and 295 foot-pounds of torque.
00:47 It drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
00:51 And there are settings which can vary the torque split between the front and rear.
00:56 The car has very European styling, was designed in Germany by a team led by Mark Adams.
01:03 And I have to say that the Buick design graphics work much better than this than they do on
01:08 the Opel.
01:10 The Regal GS may appear late this year or early next year, because even though it is
01:16 a concept car, you can bank on this one making production.
