00:00 So I knew it was so much to get done, there's no way I'd get it done by myself.
00:09 So I asked my friend Nick Cava to come over.
00:11 Nick, thanks for coming.
00:12 No problem.
00:13 While I've been trying to wrap up the big block, Nick here has been busy.
00:17 He put the fuel system in the car, he cleaned up under hood.
00:20 What else have you done?
00:21 Batteries cleaned up.
00:22 Yeah, as you said, cleaning up in the engine compartment while the motor's out is always a plus.
00:25 And getting those tires on right now.
00:27 I'm taking the training plate down too.
00:28 Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot to change the transmission lube oil and filter for us here today.
00:33 Although the transmission fluid still looks good, it's always a good idea to change it out since it's sitting out longer.
00:37 So what kind of things have surprised you on the car so far today?
00:40 Actually I'm really surprised how clean it is underneath and how easy it is to get certain bolts off.
00:44 I think it probably does a lot in the fact that it's sitting in a dry area and not necessarily supposed to salt and such.
00:49 But it's always really nice when you can get bolts and nuts and bolts off really easily.
00:52 So you think we're going to make power tour in six days?
00:55 We don't really have a choice, do we?
00:56 You're right about that.
00:57 [sanding]
01:02 This is one of those parts that I probably really should replace.
01:05 It had quite a few crusties inside of here.
01:08 But lack of planning has got us to the last minute.
01:12 And now I'm going to clean it up, paint it, and hope that it doesn't leak when I put it in.

02:04 Well, it's near the end of the Memorial Day weekend.
02:07 And thanks to Nick Cappa, who stopped by again today, as well as Mark Allen, who came by.
02:11 The engine's in the car.
02:13 They were a great help.
02:14 This would have been a disaster's job if I had tried to do it by myself.
02:17 So I was really happy to have a pair of extra hands over here.
02:21 We've still got a lot of work left to do on the car, though.
02:23 The headers need to be hooked up.
02:24 All of this front drive can go on.
02:26 And then the radiator and electric fan can come on the car.
02:29 I also ordered the correct length pushrods.
02:31 They should be here tomorrow so I can button up the rest of the engine,
02:34 put some gas in the gas tank, and try to fire it up, see what happens.
