00:01People in Melbourne are pretty used to the weather being fairly variable at the best of times and today was

00:08It was a very soggy, damp, overcast start to the day but about 30 minutes before the race the sun
00:14did come out
00:15and you could almost feel this kind of energy in the room here at a pub in St Kilda.
00:19Now we're not at Flemington of course but people here still do have a fair bit at stake with many
00:24placing bets on their horses in the race.
00:27You could feel that a couple of minutes before the race was broadcast this room really filled up
00:32and you could feel the excitement in the room as people cowered in or ushered in to see if they'd
00:37won anything as that race was run.
