Miane grapples with the aftermath of a deadly mass shooting.
Transcript
00:00 Nerves are rattled right now.
00:04 Keeping an eye on the woods.
00:06 Because I know those woods down there, they go run right back here.
00:11 And I got my daughter inside.
00:13 How old is your daughter?
00:15 She's 10 years old.
00:17 And my oldest daughter, she works at the Walmart DC too.
00:20 And I had to message her to find out if she's okay.
00:24 And it's very unnerving right now.
00:28 Seeing those officers with those long guns walking through.
00:32 That actually made me feel better.
00:34 Seeing the cops coming around here, that makes me feel a million times better.
00:42 In a situation like this, I wish I had a firearm.
00:46 There's a lot of officers involved with the search.
00:51 I mean, I don't want to give anything away.
00:53 I can say my whole department's involved.
00:55 In this area, every department.
00:58 I've seen departments across the entire state of Maine have responded.
01:01 We want to locate the individual and make sure our community is kept safe.
01:05 So the biggest thing I can say is make sure that if the community sees anything,
01:10 stay inside, don't approach, call the police department.
01:13 Just like we just did here.
01:15 Someone heard something, they called.
01:17 It's the right thing to do.
01:18 I'd rather it turn out to be a deer than this person.
01:22 But we want to locate him.
01:24 Where do you think he is and what area possibly could he be in?
01:29 I can't comment on any of that right now.
01:31 But you can see from the barricades, it gives a pretty good indication.
01:34 How many calls have you had so far tonight?
01:36 Would you say dozens?
01:40 We've got a lot.
01:41 A lot?
01:42 A lot, yeah.
01:43 A lot, a lot of calls.
01:44 Do you know if the person of interest, if he knows this area?
01:49 I can't comment on any of that right now.
01:52 We have a lot of intel and we're just working in conjunction with our state
01:56 and federal partners.
01:58 Everybody's involved.
01:59 We're just trying to keep the community safe.
02:01 Obviously, this is a very tragic incident that happened.
02:04 We're doing our job to the best of our abilities to locate the suspect.
02:07 How confident are you that you'll get him?
02:10 I would say that we're going to not stop until we locate him.
02:13 So you don't have to worry about that.

03:01 But right now, we're encouraging everyone, shelter in place,
03:04 schools are closed, businesses are closed.
03:07 Stay home with your loved ones right now
03:09 and just pray for the victims of last night's terrible tragedy.
