Sydney Flight College expands to Tamworth

A prominent Sydney-based flight school announced its expansion into Tamworth in style with an air show by Red Bull Air Race world champion Matt Hall. Video by Jonathan Hawes

00:30 That's what I do and to be able to bring not only Tamworth, the next generation of

00:36 Tamworth pilots, the next generation of New South Wales, next generation of Australians,

00:41 the next generation of international people here to Tamworth to follow in my footsteps

00:46 and to chase their own dreams is something I'm very proud to be a part of and while people

00:50 thank me for coming here and doing this, I thank everyone here for getting behind this

00:54 and making it happen.

00:56 I just can't believe how you do that.

01:02 Really on behalf of the council and the wider community, I'd like to welcome Sydney Flying

01:08 College.

01:09 It's been a long journey, we're here, we're going to cut the ribbon.

01:13 How exciting is it to see this facility now going to be utilised again as what it was

01:17 designed for and that's a pilot training centre.

01:30 As we work together, SFC's investment in Tamworth will contribute to local jobs and increase

01:38 the local economic activity.

01:45 So this represents a massive, a quantum leap in expansion.

01:49 Something that we have a plan for Tamworth and the plan is over the next five years to

01:54 start humbly again and then grow into I think a world class training centre and I'd like

02:01 to thank council for their help in doing this, my board for the vision in supporting it and

02:07 what can I say, it's going to be great up in Tamworth and I hope to come up here much

02:13 more often.
