00:19It's been a long time coming and to have my first ride and first winner on the one day, it's
00:26pretty awesome.
00:27And I've got so many family and friends here and my partner and his family and my mum and auntie
00:32and all my extended family.
00:34It's a shame my dad and my papa and my brother aren't here but they got called to Newcastle last
00:38minute for a medical emergency I suppose.
00:44But I know that they'll be on the phone watching but I'm very thrilled and yes, it's a good little
00:49boost I suppose getting a winner early on.
00:53Just quickly, describe that race for me. Were you confident coming into the home straight?
00:58Oh yeah, I was saying to Sue earlier, he sort of dropped the bridle a bit at the 800 and
01:03I got a little bit worried.
01:05And as we were working into the 400, I could feel us getting a bit wide and I thought I'll
01:10follow Jake on Balmerio into the straight and I followed him.
01:13And I still had so much horse underneath me so I thought I'm just going to have to go wide
01:17and he hit the line brilliantly.
01:19Wonderful. And just finally, your dad's, it's a health issue isn't it, but he's okay isn't he?
01:24Yeah, he'll be okay. He just had to have just the surgery this morning.
01:29Haven't been able to speak to him yet, just went all out of phones in the jockey's room or anything
01:33like that.
01:33But I'll speak to him at the end but he was going in early so I'm sure as soon as
01:38he was out and awake, I'm sure he would have been on the phone ready to watch me.
01:41Right, and you expect him to make a full recovery?
01:43Yes, yeah, he should be fine.
01:44Thank you very much.
01:45Awesome, thank you.
01:45Great, thank you.
01:51So exciting, unbelievable.
01:53And the race caller described it as a brilliant ride, is that your take on how it went?
01:57Of course it was.
01:58Hey?
01:58Of course it was. Yeah, no, she made it well.
02:00Can you believe she's won first up?
02:02Yes, because she's a winner.
02:04Okay, thank you very much.
