00:00 I've really been working with Zoe
00:02 since the beginning of my career.
00:04 And she's such an artist, you're such an artist,
00:08 and we all are able to come together every time
00:12 with this level of deep love and support
00:15 and admiration for each other, and history, obviously,
00:20 but also really seeing it with totally fresh eyes.
00:24 (upbeat music)
00:26 - What's the first red carpet look
00:32 do you think we did, all three of us?
00:35 - It was for "Avatar."
00:36 - It was for "Avatar." - Yes.
00:38 She had, you made that little bob over here,
00:40 remember, in London? - Yes.
00:42 - I remember that.
00:43 - And she was in this kind of, oh,
00:46 forget, Roland Marais dress. - Yes.
00:48 My God, how do you remember all of it?
00:49 - I don't know, I don't know, but that was so fun.
00:52 You know, we first asked Petra, like,
00:55 what is she gonna wear?
00:56 What are the ideas for the red carpet and for a premiere?
00:58 And then Mara and I, we just go through
01:02 like the different looks, and we start getting ideas
01:05 to pitch the ideas to both Zoe and Petra,
01:09 and then we just kind of like bring everything together.
01:13 I think that we treat the Oscars as good as a red carpet,
01:17 I feel. - It's true.
01:18 You know, I think the only thing to say
01:20 that kind of changes a little bit
01:22 is like those carpets are so big,
01:24 and they're such big moments,
01:26 that maybe we take into consideration,
01:28 you know, we want this look to really kind of
01:32 stand the test of time and feel like something
01:35 when we look back, like Zoe had mentioned,
01:37 one of her favorite looks was the Oscars
01:39 from over 10 years ago. - 2010, I know.
01:42 - So being able to like look back and go,
01:46 oh wow, that really is still a look
01:49 that I could see doing again today.
01:52 - Yeah, totally. - Yeah.
01:54 - I have to say that the whole Avatar tour for me,
01:58 the last one, I don't know, I felt like,
02:02 you really nailed it. - Me too.
02:03 - I don't know, there was something fun about all of it.
02:06 I think that inspiration comes to me
02:08 like when we see the dress and then you go,
02:11 but there's always different inspirations,
02:14 not just one, that's for me.
02:16 - And I think that's what's so special,
02:18 like she can pull off so many different looks.
02:23 It's unbelievable, I don't think there's an area
02:27 or a decade that I just don't go to
02:31 'cause it doesn't feel like her.
02:32 She's really able to be in all these different roles.
02:37 - My God, the 20s and the 30s.
02:39 - Yeah, we did that one in London for Star Trek.
02:42 - Looks amazing.
02:43 - And you kind of did like a wash on the eye
02:46 and very little mascara or something
02:49 or maybe lighter brows and we kind of did this
02:51 like sort of 30s hairstyle and it was just so cool.
02:56 Loved it.
02:58 - Mara makes me grow, Zoe makes me definitely grow.
03:01 Like she sometimes pushes me to do things
03:04 that I didn't even think about
03:05 and it's like you just go there.
03:07 And working with Zoe, she is up for any changes
03:12 and trying different things.
03:15 - Yeah, absolutely, I totally agree.
03:17 I think I've evolved so much as an artist
03:20 and I've really been working with Zoe
03:23 since the beginning of my career
03:25 and she's such an artist, you're such an artist
03:29 and we all are able to come together every time
03:33 with this level of like deep love and support
03:37 and admiration for each other and history obviously
03:40 but also really seeing it with totally fresh eyes.
03:45 It's really fun.
03:46 - That's the fun part of it.
03:48 We actually, we change it all the time.
03:51 - Yeah.
03:51 - And I love that.
03:52 (upbeat music)
