Your Tuesday travel forecast for Oct. 24

Much of the country will have calm weather this Tuesday, but there will still be some trouble spots for travel.

00:00 Let's face it, we are getting into the

00:02 busy holiday season of Halloween and beyond.

00:04 It seems like it's just a

00:05 race to the end of the year,

00:08 so travel is on the minds of many.

00:10 And if you are traveling to the Northwest,

00:12 this is where our biggest concerns

00:14 are as we head through tomorrow.

00:15 We've got rain in Seattle and Portland

00:17 and that could be enough to slow down.

00:20 But what I want you to be concerned with

00:22 are some threats through the cascades

00:24 of more snow trying to lower ultimately,

00:26 especially late Tuesday to pass levels.

00:28 So do watch out for those passes 'cause

00:30 there could be restrictions on them.

00:31 Coming up very quickly throughout this week.

00:33 Helena, I think it's a windy time there.

00:35 As you get used to,

00:36 the mountains will be really

00:38 talking about those Chinook winds.

00:39 Not only that,

00:40 but we have the rainfall and snow nearby,

00:42 so just the region as a whole will

00:44 have some significant trouble.

00:45 Southwest looking good here.

00:46 Not too many problems.

00:47 I think we're OK.

00:48 Maybe a thunderstorm in Albuquerque,

00:50 but for the most part,

00:51 it's a thunderstorm through the

00:52 plains that will be wet enough

00:54 to create some problems.

00:55 Places like Omaha, Kansas City,

00:56 maybe even into Des Moines.

00:58 Farther South,

00:58 we're looking OK from Oklahoma City

01:00 into Dallas and the Southeast.

01:02 Relatively quiet.

01:02 I don't see any travel delay problems

01:04 here or even into the Midwest where

01:07 things are quiet in Chicago, Columbus,

01:09 Detroit, so it's looking good in

01:11 the eastern tier of the US as we get

01:13 those milder numbers pushing in Boston.

01:15 You'll be pushing into the 60s.

01:17 No problems there and the I-95

01:19 corridor looking like smooth travels.

01:21 Flight delays not a big concern

01:23 either this morning.

01:24 We'll talk about that in just a
