Your Friday travel forecast for the first day of March

From thunderstorms in the Southeast to heavy snow in the Northwest, here's a breakdown of how the weather could affect your travel plans on March 1.

00:03 Well, in Rochester, New York, they managed to get in on some winter.

00:06 It was cold, snowy, and windy for the morning at the International Airport there.

00:11 And come tomorrow, skies are going to be clearing out.

00:16 We hit in the road, you'll get drier weather at least for a while before some showers move

00:21 in later tomorrow night here in northern New York, upstate New York.

00:25 Let's check out the travel for your Friday because there will be some slowdowns.

00:29 We are getting rid of some of that lake effect snow, so the focus will be parts of the south

00:33 and into the west.

00:35 Of course, that's our big story, right?

00:37 We've got the moisture pushing in there.

00:38 We know that the mountains, there won't be any travel possible there, so there will be

00:42 some real challenges.

00:43 We'll take you into Seattle, minor delays there.

00:46 Portland, also looking at some minor delays.

00:48 Boise, rain, snow, showers, still though mostly minor delays as most of the moisture is farther

00:53 to the south.

00:54 Reno, it's snow to start off the day, transitioning to rain, strong winds.

00:59 San Francisco, a windy, wet day for you.

01:04 And we actually get a few showers in Los Angeles for the afternoon, so that could create

01:07 some minor delays.

01:08 But Reno, among one of our no-go's for travel, our red light, because we've got two to four

01:13 inches of heavy snow coming down for a lot of the morning hours, and we're going to get

01:17 back into it then as we go through your Friday night.

01:20 Meanwhile, off towards east, Atlanta, a major delay.

01:23 That's going to be showers, thunderstorms working overhead.

01:25 Pretty wet there from Birmingham to Atlanta on the I-20 corridor for the day.

01:29 If you are trying to fly for the upcoming days, though, the good news is with the lack

01:35 of severe weather that we have across the nation as far as thunderstorm activity, we

01:40 keep those flight cancellations relatively low.
