00:00 The shelling of Gaza continues, as many of those who live there have now fled, resulting
00:04 in a humanitarian crisis.
00:07 Now after a short trip to the region, President Biden says some headway has been made to get
00:11 essential supplies to Palestinians in need.
00:14 Biden called his discussions with Israeli leadership blunt, saying this to reporters.
00:18 I'm very blunt about the need to support getting humanitarian aid to Gaza.
00:26 Get it to Gaza and do it quickly.
00:29 And my point to everyone is, look, if you have an opportunity to alleviate the pain,
00:37 you should do it, period.
00:38 And if you don't, you're going to lose credibility worldwide.
00:42 The president added that he has also been in contact with Egyptian leadership as well,
00:46 and had reached an agreement with regards to getting aid over the border.
00:50 That deal will see 20 trucks cross into Gaza via the Rafah crossing, the only entry into
00:54 the area from Egypt.
00:56 Those are just the first of hopefully many, as upwards of a million people have been displaced
01:00 by Israeli bombing.
01:02 Biden added that it is now up to Hamas to ensure things go smoothly.
01:06 With regards to the aid delivery.
01:07 If Hamas confiscates it or doesn't let it get through, or just confiscates it, then
01:14 it's going to end because we're not going to be sending any humanitarian aid to Hamas
01:19 if they're going to come and confiscate it.
01:22 That's a commitment that I've made.
