Luxmuralis arrives at Durham Cathedral

We speak to the new Dean of Durham, Philip Plyming, as Luxmuralis arrives at Durham Cathedral.

00:03 What can visitors expect from it?

00:05 Well, they're going to experience Durham Cathedral like they've never experienced it before.

00:09 It's an amazing experience.

00:10 All the pews have been cleared out and there's an extraordinary sensation, extraordinary experience

00:15 that's going to await for visitors.

00:18 We're going to explore the way in which science and religion come together in this incredible

00:23 space.

00:24 I think how all of them point to God, our creator, and give us a chance to have a wonderful

00:29 evening and to be wowed by this incredibly ancient building, but by the modern insights

00:35 of science.

00:36 So come along, enjoy it.

00:37 It's going to be fabulous.

00:38 And churches and cathedrals were obviously built for the community and this brings a

00:42 whole wave of new people through the door who perhaps haven't visited the cathedral

00:46 before, doesn't it?

00:47 One of the things I love about Durham Cathedral is that people know it's their cathedral across

00:51 the North East.

00:52 So this is just another way in which we can welcome people to Durham Cathedral.
