00:00 Selangor Menteri Besar Amiruddin Shari said the report investigating the tragic landslide
00:04 in Batangkali, which resulted in the loss of 31 lives, including 13 children, will identify the
00:09 landowner. Amiruddin said that his administration made the decision to declassify the report on the
00:15 tragedy yesterday. The landslide, which occurred on the Father's Organic Farm campsite in Batangkali,
00:20 Pulau Selangor, also left 61 people injured. Initial findings by the Works Ministry
00:26 indicate that tension cracks extending along the road running above the hill slope and the
00:30 accumulation of underground water beneath the campsite are the probable causes of the landslide.
00:35 Previously, it was reported that a preliminary report had been submitted to the Cabinet on
00:40 January 4. Amiruddin further noted that the declassified report, which he describes as
00:45 highly technical, could serve as a basis for relevant authorities to consider taking further
00:50 action. The report will be published on the National Disaster Management Agency's website.
