00:10Fresh from dazzling the international classical music stage and making Malaysia proud, acclaimed
00:16pianist Vincent Ong 25 is back home with a mission to give back. Held under Talent Corp's My Heart
00:23initiative Vincent Ong A Homecoming is a collaboration with Talent Corp, an agency under the Human Resources
00:30Ministry aimed at bringing homegrown global success stories closer to Malaysians, while strengthening
00:36talent development in the country's performing arts scene. After clinching gold at the International
00:42Schumann Competition in 2024, Ong went on to make history a year later as the first Malaysian finalist
00:49and medal winner at the prestigious Frederick Chopin Piano Competition, cementing his place
00:54among the most compelling pianists of his generation. His return carries special significance, giving him
01:00the chance to reconnect with home while contributing to the growth of Malaysia's performing arts scene
01:05through masterclasses, recitals and public engagements. In terms of guiding young Malaysians,
01:13festivals, there is definitely a possibility for me to hopefully conduct more masterclasses or maybe
01:21participate in some local music festivals here. Apart from giving concerts, yes. I hope that they gain a bit of
01:32excitement and a bit more appreciation for, not just for me, but also in general for music and music education.
01:47Talent Corp Group CEO Edward Ling said Malaysians who have built careers and gained international exposure abroad
01:55should be seen not as talent loss but as part of the nation's wider strength. We want Malaysians to go
02:02abroad,
02:03gain experience and build global networks and make sure they are continually still deeply connected to Malaysia.
02:12And we know that they want to contribute and remain part of Malaysia's growth story.
02:17Ling said platforms such as MyHeart have enabled Talent Corp to build deeper and more sustained links,
02:24with Malaysians abroad, across education, research, healthcare, business and the creative industries since 2023.
02:33Ultimately, this is how we want to think about Malaysia's future, where talent is not defined by location,
02:40where Malaysians everywhere remain connected and where that connection continues to create value for the country.
