00:02 - Hey everybody, still here in Detroit.
00:09 This time we're on stage at Hyundai
00:11 with the new Veloster Turbo.
00:13 Now, when Hyundai launched the Veloster,
00:15 everybody liked it for its funky styling,
00:18 its three-door bodywork, its cheap price,
00:21 but the one thing I got universally panned for
00:23 was it was really slow.
00:25 Well, Hyundai is now addressing that
00:27 with the new Turbocharged version.
00:29 The numbers are pretty good.
00:30 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
00:34 If you think about the Veloster Turbo's competitive set,
00:37 like Hyundai has done, it's a pretty compelling argument.
00:40 The Honda Civic Si, probably its closest competition,
00:43 makes 201 horsepower, but less torque,
00:46 only about 170 pound-feet.
00:48 And the Honda's gonna probably cost $5,000 more.
00:52 Also, and it's a small thing,
00:54 but we love the matte finish on this,
00:56 and it's probably the world's cheapest matte finish car.
00:59 Anyways, like always, we can't wait to drive it.
01:02 And stay tuned to this channel
01:03 for more coverage from Detroit.
