00:00 Hey everybody this is Sean Holman with the 4-Wheeler Network and here we are with Nico
00:06 Vardis, design manager for Mopar.
00:08 That's right.
00:09 And we're out here in beautiful Moab, Utah and behind us is one of your creations for
00:13 this year's Easter Jeep Safari and that's based on the all new Compass platform.
00:18 That's right.
00:19 So we took the all new Compass platform that Jeep provided us and we upfitted it with a
00:23 bunch of Mopar JPP accessories.
00:25 So pretty fun project taking our already capable Compass and taking it to the next level.
00:32 So we did a few things to it.
00:35 We did a custom paint job, you know a cool pattern on the hood that mimics a hexagon
00:41 pattern that speaks to the body side Mopar production graphic.
00:45 Also it's got JPP rock rails so these are legitimate rock rails that actually function.
00:50 Some of the parts that you have on here are concept parts and others are production available
00:54 right now and what's cool is the rock rails are actually a production part that somebody
00:58 could buy for their Compass right now?
00:59 That's correct.
01:00 Yeah.
01:01 So it's a combination of some concept things and some production parts.
01:06 So yeah, we got a concept lift on it.
01:09 It elevates the vehicle about an inch and a half.
01:12 We threw on an inch larger OD tire.
01:16 You're basically looking at about a two inch or so lift, a little bit more overall from
01:22 the standard vehicle.
01:23 Yeah, yeah.
01:24 Just to give it a little bit more capability out here in Moab.
01:28 Also the 18 inch wheel is a production wheel.
01:31 However, we have a custom paint on it.
01:33 It's like a granite crystal, like a low gloss granite crystal with a cool accented spoke.
01:39 And I noticed the kind of accented spoke and some of the other design details on this vehicle
01:43 mimic sort of things that are going into the action sports industry like mountain bikes
01:46 and things like that that have kind of an accent color thrown on one spoke.
01:50 Of course, I mean, you kind of mimic that here for that sort of newer, younger person
01:54 who's getting into the Jeep market and wants something a little flashier and a little more
01:58 modern looking.
01:59 Yeah, exactly.
02:00 Exactly.
02:01 I mean, even to the color, it's a custom paint.
02:02 We call it green zone.
02:04 So it's a really nice interplay of the orange and the green.
02:08 It compliments itself.
02:09 It's a kind of a nice surprise.
02:12 Also up top, there's a rack system to carry your gear and all that stuff.
02:18 We also added some track mats.
02:20 I think you know those things out here, Moab.
02:23 So they actually work.
02:25 So it's kind of a nice little-
02:26 Not that you would get your Jeep stuck, but if you did, you could pull those guys down
02:30 and drive right over the top.
02:31 Exactly.
02:32 On the inside, just a couple things I want to touch on on the inside.
02:36 The interior is custom leather wrapped cat skin seats.
02:40 And there's this really cool hexagon embossed pattern in the seat pan and the backs that
02:46 mimic the body side graphic.
02:49 So there's nice little tie-ins there.
02:52 And also just to play up on that orange accent on the wheels, it also is accented around
02:57 the compass badge.
02:59 So it's just little details like that that we tie in the whole vehicle with.
03:04 And what's the concept called?
03:06 The concept's called Trail Pass.
03:08 Trail Pass.
03:09 Yeah.
