00:00 and must stop now, not tomorrow.
00:02 Because there is a danger
00:06 that if these killings are not stopped,
00:09 the victims are likely
00:12 to feel that they have been abandoned by the state
00:16 and therefore resort to measures to protect themselves.
00:19 As the area member of parliament,
00:21 I want to say that I also want to ask the head of state
00:26 to move with speed
00:28 and bring to an end the massacre.
00:31 Because what is happening in Sondo
00:33 would in other words amount to what could be
00:36 would amount to what could be described as ethnic cleansing.
00:42 And this is not the first time this thing is happening in Sondo.
00:45 This thing was brought to the attention of the security forces
00:50 and as we speak now,
00:53 houses are being burned around the ghetto area.
00:56 Four people have died,
00:58 we have their details.
01:00 Last week I was in that area,
01:02 I have the details of the people who have died,
01:04 who attacked last night
01:06 when the police were actually present in the area.
01:08 So we have David Utien who has been confirmed dead.
01:11 We have Rashid,
01:14 he's a young man from Kisii, aged 20 years,
01:17 who has also been confirmed dead.
01:19 Osoni, who was killed last night.
01:21 We have Brian Ade,
01:23 who has also been killed.
