“It’s left a hole in the community”. North Londoners react to restaurant closing down

Banners Cafe in Crouch End has closed its doors after feeding locals for over 30 years.

00:28 Yeah, definitely. It's a massive gap and hole in Crouch End's local community. I hope it

00:36 gets replaced with something equally as beautiful.

00:39 I haven't been in it for about 10, 15 years. I did used to go when I was going out with

00:46 someone from the local area, but apart from that I haven't used it for the last 15 or

00:51 so years.

00:53 I think it's a shame. I actually wasn't aware that Banners was closing, but it is a shame

00:57 that they are. I guess people can't afford to use them anymore, so it's all part of the

01:05 same problem, isn't it? Yeah, that's a pity.

01:12 I think independent little spaces like that create just a beautiful energy and they bring

01:20 kind of people together and I think we need more of that.
