00:00 68-year-old pensioner Angela George of Mount Grace, Tobago said the incident
00:06 happened in May of this year after she went to hospital seeking help for her
00:11 damaged kidneys. The wheelchair-bound woman claims that after she was given an
00:17 injection she left the facility worse than she went in.
00:21 She come and she tell me turn my hand and when I turn my hand she come and she give me an injection right here and as soon as she give me an injection a stinging feeling just run down in my hand and my hand just slaps through and never open back up to now.
00:39 Ms. George told TV6 News that she is unable to do what she normally could at her home and has to depend on relatives and friends for help.
00:49 This situation is so bad with her injured hand she can't reach her bedroom and has now resorted to sleeping in her living room.
00:59 She said she made up the necessary forms at the Scarborough General Hospital for an assistant but no help has come.
01:06 So I carry a helper there for she to register and nothing doing since I come from the hospital nothing doing. I can't even go up in my room to lie down because I had to go up on a little step to hold on and I can't go up because I have nothing to brace on, the hand close up and it can't open.
01:26 The dialysis patient told us that she only recently received documentation from the hospital to seek therapy for her sick hand but is still in desperate need of a helper.
01:39 I went to the hospital doing everything, I used to be home here cooking, washing, everything I was doing and now I can't do nothing. You can't clean yourself properly because I mean, I need some assistance, I need a helper. I talked to them already and I don't know how long they're taking again.
