00:18 I think the story for Baker this year is

00:20 how long can he hold on to the starting job in Tampa Bay

00:24 if the Bucs are going to be more competitive than expected?

00:27 If the Buccaneers are going to be a thorn in the side,

00:30 if Tampa can win football games outright, DRS,

00:33 as an underdog on the road,

00:35 then Baker Mayfield might remain the starting quarterback

00:37 in Tampa Bay for longer than we expect,

00:40 at least for me personally.

00:42 I still think Kyle Trask ends the year as a starter,

00:45 but a big game for Baker.

00:47 And DRS, of course, last year,

00:49 it was Tom Brady at the helm.

00:51 So anytime Tom Brady is the starting quarterback

00:53 for an NFL team, expectation is going to be there.

00:56 The Bucs, despite the struggles,

00:58 despite having a losing record at the end of the year,

01:01 sub 500, were still only booked as an underdog

01:04 four times in 17 games.

01:07 But they were both 0-4 against the spread

01:09 and straight up as an underdog a season ago.

01:12 So for Baker to win his first start as a Buc, DRS,

01:15 outright as a dog, again, he's one of my three winners

01:18 from the first NFL Sunday of 2023.

01:22 - No, I can't disagree with you here

01:23 because I was even saying before coming into the season,

01:26 I really hope that, let's just say,

01:27 Tampa Bay brought Baker Mayfield in on a multi-year contract

01:30 and told him he was the starter right away.

01:32 Now we figured he probably would end up being there,

01:33 but you know, when you're pressed up against it to say,

01:36 in order for me to keep my job,

01:37 I have to play extremely well

01:39 and keep this football team afloat

01:40 with a legitimate chance to get into the playoffs.

01:42 When you look at the schedule for the Buccaneers,

01:44 it's a pretty difficult one to start

01:46 where maybe after five or six weeks,

01:47 he might find himself on the bench

01:48 just because the team is underperforming.

01:50 That's a quality win on the road

01:52 because if they would have lost this game,

01:53 even though they were underdogs,

01:55 the questions would arise.

01:56 What are you doing with Baker Mayfield?

01:57 You might as well get a look at Kyle Trask

01:59 the rest of the way.

01:59 That was a really good performance at him.

02:01 If he can stay in his lane,

02:03 as opposed to saying, you know what,

02:04 I have to make extra plays here just to keep my job,

02:07 he could be fine.

02:08 And again, if there was no Deshaun Watson

02:10 and he doesn't get injured,

02:11 he'd still be a Brown at this point.

02:12 Now we have to remember that.

02:14 Maybe he can resurge in Tampa.

02:15 High expectations, no.

02:17 But yesterday, if you want to tell me

02:18 he's not going to turn the football over,

02:20 Tampa's going to be in games.
